5-year-old boy’s endearing response to finishing fourth in goat-showing event has hearts melting

Milo Garza, five, and his goat Teddy Bear are capturing the hearts of people all around the world. Milo’s heartwarming response to getting a yellow ribbon for his efforts was recorded on camera after the couple finished fourth at the Compadres Cabritos goat and lamb show in Kingsville, Texas, on June 22.

The camera captured Milo smiling joyfully at his ribbon before he bent down to embrace and kiss his pet brown and white goat, Teddy Bear. It came as a surprise to Milo, who had stepped in to replace his elder brother during the presentation.

During an interview with NBC News after his great triumph, Milo said, “I love goats!” His mother, Elizabeth, said that the Garza family raises goats, and Milo described his duties on the family property.

“We feed them, work them, and walk them,” he told the media site. “We give them water.” Milo also mentioned his favorite thing about Teddy Bear. “His legs,” he said. “They’re fat.”

His mother remarked that the occasion was extremely significant for Milo. “It was a raw emotion,” she explained. “It was something completely unexpected. Milo is a goat lover. He walks outdoors and is constantly caressing, petting, and embracing the goats; they’re like pets to him, and he can’t get enough of them.

Laechelin Farms, which first caught Milo’s response, posted more about the lovely moment on Instagram. “When a youngster displays their animal and it places, they learn about their own power and how hard work may be rewarded. It’s a moment of pride that solidifies self-worth and fosters lifelong confidence,” they wrote. “I recorded this scene at a goat and lamb exhibition. This boy’s delight about finishing fourth in his class made everyone in the audience grin and giggle.

Milo’s amusing and heartwarming remark wowed spectators, who were thrilled by his upbeat reply. “He’s so proud of his goat! 🥹🩷,” one commenter said. Another commenter expressed, “This truly touched my heart.” The absolute excitement on the child’s face is priceless. Laechelin Farms also responded to Milo’s tale becoming viral:

“I’m very thrilled to see Milo put a light on youngsters in the cattle business. Raising and showing animals requires hard work—early mornings, late nights, and more heart than most people ever see,” they said. Showing animals teaches responsibility, work ethic, and love—as well as demonstrating where our food originates from. ❤️💪 Milo, you are representing so many young and elderly AG kids out there, and we are rooting for you!”
