Brad Pitt is “proud” that his 17-year-old daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, is attending Spelman College. “I’m quite proud of her. She’s quite intelligent.” She’s going to thrive even more in college,” Pitt told Vanity Fair on Monday at the Los Angeles premiere of his new film “Bullet Train.” “It’s an exciting and beautiful time to find her own way and pursue her interests,” he said.

Spelman College, founded in 1881 in Atlanta, Georgia, promotes itself as “a global leader in the education of women of African descent.”

Morehouse College, which is next to the school, is regarded as Spelman’s sister college. In the HBCU community, the schools are sometimes referred to as “spelhouses” when they are together.

On the red carpet, Pitt reminisced about how he felt about one of his children growing up. “Where does the time go?” They mature far too quickly. “It makes me tear up,” he told Vanity Fair.

Pitt isn’t the only parent who is overjoyed with Zahara’s good news. Angelina Jolie, Jolie-Pitt’s mother, recently revealed her daughter’s attendance at the school by sharing a photo of Zahara with her “Spelman sisters” on her Instagram page.

Jolie and Pitt tied the knot in 2014. Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, and the couple was officially legally separated in 2019, though the case is still pending while they work out custody concerns. Along with Zahara, the stars share custody of Maddox, 20, Pax, 18, Shiloh, 16, Knox, 14, and Vivienne, 14. Zahara will be the second of the Jolie-Pitt children to attend college, following Maddox, who started at Yonsei University in South Korea in 2019.
