Fans of Adele have taken to social media after the singer announced she would be taking a “rest” from touring.
Adele made a significant revelation on Saturday (August 31) while performing her farewell gig in Munich, Germany.
A user named @adeledrinkswine tweeted a clip from the night on August 31, showing the 36-year-old singer addressing the crowd and thanking ‘everyone’ for attending.
She addressed the audience, saying, “I’d want to thank everyone who has ever attended one of my concerts.
“I am—I’m not the most comfortable performer, I know that, but I am very f**king good at it, and I have really enjoyed performing for nearly three years now, which is the longest I’ve ever done and probably the longest I will ever do.”

In the footage, the singer stated that the Munich concert was supposed to be her last, but she’s ‘thrilled’ to have 10 more gigs as part of her Las Vegas residency. Her ‘poorly’ health earlier this year forced the postponement of shows, but they will now conclude at Caesars Colosseum on November 23.
However, Adele then said that you ‘would not see [her] for an enormously long time’.
The performer continued, saying, “I will hold you dear in my heart for the duration of my break, and I will fantasize about these shows and any shows that I’ve done over the last three years, and I hold them in the bottom of my heart forever—it’s been amazing.”
She then stated that she ‘simply needs a rest’ after working ‘the previous seven years constructing a new life’ for herself.
“but after that [10 shows in Vegas], i will not see you for an incredibly long time… i just need a rest. i’ve spent the last 7 years building the life for myself, I want to live it now. I want to live my new life I’ve been building” — Adele pic.twitter.com/LwviKRcVAe

“I want to live my new life that I’ve been building,” Adele said through tears. “And I will miss you terribly, but I will see some of you, and I am certain that some of you will end up in Vegas” I would not put anything past you.”
She made the decision: “But I will remember these shows for eternity; they have been spectacular.”
On social media, fans of the ‘Hello’ singer have quickly responded.
One Twitter user said, “I’m going to miss her.”
“I am happy for Adele for taking the much-needed break; she is a mother, and now she may marry the guy she loves so much,” another said. Another person commented, “She will relish living with him and beginning a fresh family.”
And a third resolved: “Take all the time you need to live the life you’ve always wanted.” “We’ll be here when you’re ready, @adele.”
