If one wins the lottery, how should one proceed? Many of us have big plans for what we would buy with the money, such as a brand-new car or house.
However, one Massachusetts man, who adored animals and won millions of dollars on a scratchoff, was willing to donate his wealth to animals in need.
Paul Riley, a Peabody, Massachusetts, resident, purchased an instant ticket game for the Massachusetts State Lottery named “100X Cash” from a local merchant. According to a news release, he scraped it off and was surprised to discover that he had won the $4 million prize in the game.
Paul, described as “an animal lover,” comes to collect his award with his tiny dog, Raven.
In answer to a query regarding his future intentions, he kindly announced that he would donate a percentage of his revenues to the Animal Rescue League.
Witnessing individuals generously donate their wealth to aid needy animals is always inspiring. Naturally, Paul plans to shower himself and his family with money. He expressed a desire to buy his wife a new automobile.
Paul received a one-time payment of $2,600,000 before taxes, according to the press announcement. The merchant who purchased the lucky scratch-off, Summit Variety, will also receive a $40,000 incentive.
Congratulations, Paul, on your fantastic lottery victory! We appreciate you choosing to give to help animals in shelters!
