‘Nicest judge in the world’: Frank Caprio’s heartfelt farewell statement before dying at 88 leaves everyone in tears…

Frank Caprio, known as the “nicest judge in the world,” sent a heartfelt message to the globe just before his death yesterday.

The Rhode Island native died at the age of 88 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, having touched the lives of millions with his compassionate attitude as a judge, which caused him to go viral on many occasions.

He also hosted the television show Caught in Providence, in which actual people entered the Providence Municipal Court in Rhode Island to discover their destiny while he made rulings on traffic, parking, and criminal arraignments.

His empathy on the stand immediately gained him the label of ‘nicest judge in the world,’ and he was nominated for two Emmy Awards for his funny and kind-hearted attitude on the famous TV show.

The father-of-five was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2023, and his son Frank T. Caprio announced his death yesterday (20 August).

According to a statement posted on his Instagram profile, Judge Frank Caprio died peacefully at the age of 88 after a long and valiant fight with pancreatic cancer.

“Judge Caprio was beloved for his compassion, humility, and unwavering belief in the goodness of people. He touched the lives of millions through his work in the courtroom and beyond.”

Caprio, who is left by his wife of 60 years, Joyce; his five children—Frank, David, Marissa, John, and Paul; seven grandsons; and two great-grandchildren, confirmed the day before his death that he had been hospitalized again due to cancer.

After revealing the news on his Instagram page, the viral judge requested the prayers of his supporters, adding, “As I continue this difficult battle, your prayers will lift my spirit.”

In the video clip, he said, “Last year, I begged you to pray for me, and it’s clear that you did, because I went through a really terrible time.

“Unfortunately, I experienced a setback and am back in the hospital. Now I’m asking you to remember me in your prayers once again.”

Following the announcement of his death to his nearly four million Instagram followers, tributes flooded in for Caprio.
