This image of a steel tool may have confused some users online. However, it appears that the explanation was not far behind.

This tool, known as a meat mincer,’ has an interesting history. In the United Kingdom, it was used to mince and combine raw or cooked meat, fish, vegetables, and other ingredients. At one point, this was a common home item.

The item rose to popularity in the nineteenth century, when Karl Drais created the first version of it. Initially, people hand-cranked meat grinders, which forced meat through a metal plate with microscopic holes, resulting in tiny strands of flesh.

As technology evolved and electricity became more widely available, manufacturers began to produce meat grinders that could operate with power. Modern electric grinders can effortlessly mince pounds of meat. Some machines have accessories for sausage manufacturing, kibbe, and juicing. Since the item was upgraded, they have been able to incorporate more functions.

So, while minced meat is now simple to create using electric mincers, the instrument has come a long way to where it is now.
