Sandra Bullock shares her thoughts about turning 60, and it’s inspiring

Sandra Bullock is helping Hoda Kotb usher in her new age with some wise words.

Kotb, who turned 60 on Friday, August 9, received a birthday party on the Monday, August 12 edition of Today with Hoda and Jenna, which featured a memorable video greeting from Bullock.

“I had so many brilliant and funny things prepared for this message that was going to slay, but you know, girl, I’m just too tired,” Bullock, who turns 60 on Friday, July 26, said.

“I’m exhausted because I had to hike up that mountain before you arrived to check out the landscape, see what things looked like, and get a feel for them so I could fill you in. And it’s strange because they seem to want us to be terrified of what we could find when we arrive.

The Practical Magic actress also complimented Kotb “for being so incredible to so many people.”

Bullock closed the video with a special message to Kotb.

“Happy birthday, lovely buddy.” Thank you for allowing me to be in your circle,” Bullock remarked. “I am grateful. And I’ve put up your bar here so we can enjoy the view. It’s quite lovely, but I need you up here.” Happy Birthday.”

Kotb, the adoptive parents of girls Haley, 7, and Hope, 4, became noticeably moved after seeing the video message, expressing that she was motivated to become a mother after following Bullock’s path.

“The reason that I have Haley and Hope is that when I was looking for inspiration from somebody who was a mom at my age, Sanda Bullock popped up, and I called her and said, ‘Tell me about motherhood,'” Kotb remembers. ” And she said, ‘It is the best decision I ever made.’ And from that moment forward, she led the way to these two girls.”

Bullock celebrated her 60th birthday on July 26, one year after her companion Bryan Randall died at the age of 57.

“She’s doing well now.” Her children are amazing. She’s thrilled to be a mother,” a source close to Bullock’s pal Jennifer Aniston told PEOPLE in July.

“Her friends provided her with the necessary support during and after his illness. “She is grateful for all the love,” the insider added. “Everyone helped to lift her after Bryan passed.”
