It is no secret that almost all golden retrievers are identical. When there are several golden retrievers present, owners must use magic to determine which one is theirs. Seriously, how can they all appear to have the same face? It’s as if someone fell asleep at the copy machine as they were being generated.

Aside from collars, leashes, and bandanas, recognizing the dog that belongs to you must be a secret ability because their dispositions appear to be quite similar. That’s why it’s not surprising that when one family dropped off their adorable golden retriever at daycare to be groomed, they didn’t realize the daycare had sent out the incorrect dog.

Even their human parents can’t tell them different since when the switched dog arrived home, nothing looked unusual to the owners at first. She was newly groomed, so any minor deviations were immediately overlooked. But this unintentional doppelgänger was not deceiving her feline siblings.

When the dog entered their home, they observed that their cats began behaving oddly towards their canine companion. The cats began assaulting the dog, most likely in an attempt to force it to reveal what they had done with its actual dog sister. Cat slaps and a house full of odd people did not dampen the imposter’s energy; in fact, they aided in disclosing the switcheroo.

This dog kept giving face kisses and showed no interest in meeting her favorite neighbor. After putting all of this together, the owners decided to rush to the vet’s office to scan the dog’s microchip. Unfortunately, they had the incorrect dog.

“We never imagined that would happen, and of course, we expected to know, right? Kebby Kelley told Fox 9 Minneapolis-St. Paul, “If we were her parents, we would know something was wrong, and we would know right away that it was not Emmy.”

It appears that both golden retrievers went on a very weird experience that merits a lifetime of wonderful dog treats for the bewilderment. See both beautiful puppies below:
