In an interview with Rolling Stone, John Goodman, 71, stated that he had shed 200 pounds.
On Sunday, the actor from “The Flintstones” was spotted at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival in Monaco.
He’s been upfront about his yo-yo dieting struggles, but he’s found a pattern that works for him. During her time on “Roseanne” in the 1980s and 1990s, Goodman suffered from yo-yo dieting.

Goodman said in a 2010 interview with David Letterman that he previously weighed 400 pounds and struggled with yo-yo dieting while portraying Dan Conner on “Roseanne.”
Every spring, he informed the presenter, he’d complete filming “Roseanne” and shed 60 pounds.
“Then I became too attached to the barleycorn.” Every year, I’d regain it and then some. “It’ll be a continuous process for the rest of my life,” he remarked.

In 2010, he told People magazine that he chose to make a shift in 2007.
“I know it sounds sappy, but it was a waste,” the 58-year-old actor lamented at the time. “It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your ass and figure out what you’re going to eat next.”
As a result, he recruited health coach Mackie Shilstone, who has worked with athletes such as Serena Williams.
Goodman began to lose weight after avoiding alcohol and sweets and began to exercise six days a week.
Shilstone told People, “He remembers what it feels like to be extremely heavy, and it’s something he doesn’t want to experience again.”

In an interview with People in 2010, Goodman stated that he’d dropped 100 pounds thanks to his new lifestyle.
“I’m breaking a sweat, but I’m not going insane,” he explained.

Shilstone told the New York Post in 2015, “This didn’t happen overnight,” detailing how he introduced Goodman to the Mediterranean diet.
This diet is commonly considered to be one of the healthiest ways to eat, and it has been linked to improved heart health and a decreased risk of several ailments, according to Insider.
The diet emphasizes vegetables, legumes, seafood, and olive oil while limiting processed and fried meals, red meat, refined carbohydrates, sugar, and saturated fat.
Shilstone stated that Goodman’s weight loss achievement occurred primarily in the past two years.
He continued to workout six days a week on an elliptical bike and treadmill, and he also walked 10,000 to 12,000 steps every day.

In an interview with ABC News in 2016, Goodman stated that he was inspired to make a change after being “sick and tired” of gazing at his mirror while shaving.
“You don’t want to look in the mirror. It becomes unsafe.”
“I was just eating all the time,” the actor, who battled alcoholism, recalled. I was simply consuming booze. I used to take three months off, drop 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack of marijuana or whatever and return to my old behaviors.”
He stated he couldn’t afford to sit idle at the age of 63, but his new lifestyle provided him the stamina to work.

Goodman told Rolling Stone in an interview published on Saturday that he’d dropped a total of 200 pounds.
He claims that walking the dogs helped him establish a healthy habit.
He also liked boxing, although he had to give it up due to the epidemic.
He liked “hitting the mitts,” but he never competed in boxing fights.
“I don’t know if I wouldn’t lose it if I got whacked in the face,” he said.
Goodman said he hadn’t been able to exercise recently due to his hectic job schedule, but he hopes to start a new regimen this summer.
