‘Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head’ reminds me of so many things

B.J. Thomas sang his famous song ‘Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head’ on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show.’ The upbeat lyrics are about conquering difficulties, and the upbeat tempo is a crowd-pleaser.
Dancers in bright costumes leap about in front of a backdrop of green trees. B.J. walks around in the middle of the stage, gazing around. The dancers raise their umbrellas as he sings, and thunder rumbles.

‘Raindrops keep raining on my head,’ B.J. sings. But it doesn’t imply my eyes will turn crimson any time soon. Crying isn’t for me since I’m not going to stop the rain by whining because I’m free. Nothing bothers me.’

B.J. sways while the dancers behind him swirl. A rain cloud hovers over him in the final stanza, and he becomes drenched as water drips from it. He laughs and smiles as he gets wet along with the rest of the audience.
B.J. finishes the song and goes off stage, followed by the cloud. The amazing song reached number one in the United States, Canada, and Norway, becoming the 1970s’ first number-one hit.
The song was nominated for an Academy Award for ‘Best Original Song’ since it was used in the 1969 picture ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.’ The song was written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, and Bacharach went on to win the Grammy for ‘Best Original Score.’

In the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, B.J. was recognized for his pop and Christian successes. ‘Hooked on a Feeling,’ ‘(Hey Won’t You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song,’ and ‘Don’t Worry Baby’ are among his most successful tunes.
