48 years after being separated from her child, a young mother sees him standing right in front of her

This is the tale of a mother and son who were separated at birth and reunited 48 years later by a miracle. The nicest thing a kid may ever experience is the love of their mother. It is a love that can conquer anything. Thuy-Nga Thi Nibblett became pregnant at the age of 17 years. Her father, on the other hand, was opposed to her dating the American soldier who was the father of her child.

“When you have a child who is half American and half Vietnamese,” Nibblett said, “people look down on you, especially your family.” When Nibblett gave birth to her son, her father brought him to a shelter. Her father abducted her child and never told her where he went. Her child was never seen again. Nibblett’s kid was taken in by his family from a home in Vietnam two years later.

His name was Kirk Kellerhals. Kirk believed his parents were killed in the Vietnam War when he was a youngster. He had no idea that Nibblett had been expecting to see him and be reunited with him since he had been taken away from her. Kirk, who has dark hair and a tan, claims that he was bullied as a youngster because people assumed he was of a different ethnicity. He knew his family was from Vietnam, but he didn’t know much more about his ancestors.

Kirk, who resides in Virginia Beach, South Carolina, has always been curious about his birth family, but he hasn’t done any research into his ancestors. In 2017, his wife persuaded him to undergo a Family Tree DNA test in order to discover more about his ancestors. He had no idea, however, that his life was about to alter dramatically. “I figured, ‘What the heck, let’s end the argument and find out where I’m from.'”

“As a result, I sent in the DNA sample,” he explains. When he put in his DNA, he hoped to locate a zip code or a family, but he didn’t expect to find anything. During this time, Nibblett, who had moved to the United States to find her son, had given her DNA to Family Tree DNA two years prior, hoping that they would be able to reunite.

Kirk received an email from someone he didn’t know around four weeks after submitting his DNA. “The name looked like it came from Africa,” Kirk adds, “and I thought it was a scam, so I didn’t even bother to open it.” He received an email from Family Tree DNA a few minutes later. He clicked on the email. “Family Tree DNA notified me through email that the findings were in and that there was a match…

It said, “Match parent-child.” I just shook my head and replied, “That’s wrong.” “That can’t be true,” Kirk said. Kirk opened the first email and saw a phone number. Kirk had always assumed that his parents were no longer alive. But he was chatting with his mother at the moment, and he could hear her say to him, “I thought you were my child.”

It was one of those situations, and it was one of the rare occasions in my life when I had to sit down, collect my breath, and try not to wake up.” Kirk learned what had transpired from Nibblett and that his mother had emigrated to the United States in 1971 and had been hunting for him for over 50 years. At the same time, Kirk was in for another surprise. According to reports, his biological father, Sheldon “Skip” Soule, is still alive and well in New York.

“It turned my whole world upside down because you think your parents are dead for almost 50 years of your life,” Kirk said. The mother and son will meet again a few weeks after they spoke on the phone. Nibblett and her husband went from Texas to South Carolina to meet her son. Kirk waited for his mother outside since he didn’t want to miss a single moment.

Kirk and his mother both sobbed as he opened the door of his mother’s vehicle. Kirk had never imagined he’d meet the lady who had given him life. Nibblett did not abandon her hope of seeing him one day. Their reconciliation exemplifies how love and faith can make things happen. “Thank you, God, for bringing my son to me,” Nibblett cried into the arms of her son. “Thank you for finding me,” Kirk expressed gratitude.

Kirk also got to know Skip’s relatives on both sides of his family. “I’m not going to pretend that everything was wonderful because it wasn’t. “It was difficult to take it all in,” he recalls. “In the end, it proved to be a blessing.” It helped everyone.” Even though it had been 50 years since mother and son had last seen one another, Kirk claimed seeing Nibblett again felt like they had never been separated.

“When we talked, the parental bond felt so natural,” he adds. “You can’t put it into words. In our first talk, the final thing we said to each other was “I love you.”
