Urban, McGraw, Warner Music Nashville, and ASCAP are the sponsors of this year’s MRLGT, which is currently in its 36th year. The event, as always, will benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee, which promotes the independence and full citizenship of persons with disabilities.
The event raised roughly $2.5 million for the charity, which “serves Tennessee with programs aimed at advancing the independence and full citizenship of people with disabilities,” according to its website. We provide assistance to people of all ages who have a variety of impairments, with a concentration on mobility limitations.”

Space is restricted to the first 34 teams, and participants must be at least 21 years old. Registration is $135 per player, first come, first served. Teams of four players can also participate in the MRLGT costume contest, which will be judged by United Cerebral Palsy officials. On the day, there will also be a silent auction, followed by supper.
Urban played the final gigs of his Las Vegas residency at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood this past weekend, until November. The following dates are November 1–18: On July 16, he kicks off a run of Canadian gigs in Craven, Saskatchewan, with dates running until August 25, followed by shows in the United States from August 26 to October.
Meanwhile, McGraw is gearing up for the release of his new Big Machine album, Standing Room Only, on August 25. He said of the preview single “Hey Whiskey” on social media, “The response to this song has been overwhelming in the best kind of way.” A video of him performing the song acoustically is now online.
