“NCIS” star David McCallum passed away days after his birthday

Recently, the life of a beloved actor, husband, father, and grandpa who always put his family first was lost. David McCallum, well known for his stint on “NCIS,” unexpectedly died a few days after turning 90.

CBS, the network that produced the long-running sitcom, issued a statement confirming his death. According to reports, the Scottish actor died of natural causes at New York Presbyterian Hospital, accompanied by his family.

Many people remember the late family man for his role as the medical examiner on “NCIS,” but his acting abilities were recognized long before that. From 1964 through 1968, he captivated audiences as a Soviet spy in “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”

Though David’s great job was essential to him, his family meant everything and more to him, and the celebrity prioritized them above all else. In fact, David would do all he could to adapt his job schedule so that he could spend more time with his family.

For nearly 50 years, the “Sapphire & Steel” hero was married to Katherine Carpenter, with whom he had children and, eventually, grandkids. At the time, the late actor was still working on “NCIS,” but he had worked out a deal with the show’s producers to spend more time with his family.

“I am thrilled to announce that I have reached an agreement with CBS to keep Dr. Donald Mallard on NCIS for Season 16.” Once again, the schedule will be constrained. That arrangement will enable me to spend more time with Katherine, our children, and our six grandchildren.”

Last year, the late grandpa was interviewed about his profession and life. David reminisced on the beginning of his career, notable experiences, successes, and crucial and impactful contacts he made along the way during the talk.

David had a lot of details to give about his experiences. “The Great Escape” talent offered the following memories from his life and career:

“I have so many memories, so many people and places.”

Among the numerous issues highlighted by David, his devotion to providing for his family and his experience on “NCIS” were mentioned. After complimenting his talented wife, he discussed “NCIS.” Regarding “NCIS,” David acknowledged coming to California to film the show:

“On this contract, I have two gigs remaining… I’m guessing it’ll be the last two programs of the season. Usually, they want everyone in those”

Although David had reservations about flying to film with new people because some of his previous co-stars had left the program during that period, he still had some individuals he knew and loved working with. Concerning whatever retirement plans he had, David stated that retirement was a work in progress for him and Katherine.

David’s family and friends are still grieving his untimely death, and many have expressed their sympathies.

David’s wife, children, and grandkids survive him.
