Meryl Streep and Don Gummer are supposedly the latest famous couple to divorce.
The Devil Wears Prada actress married artist Gummer in 1978, and the couple is said to be still happily married.
In reality, Streep was just photographed wearing her wedding ring when attending the Princesa de Asturias Awards 2023 in Spain on October 20.

But it turns out that Streep and Gummer had been apart for six years.
They have four children: Lousia Gummer, Mamie Gummer from The Good Wife, Grace Gummer from Mr. Robot, and Henry Wolfe Gummer, a musician.
Gummer and Streep have five grandchildren as well.
Despite their decision to break their decades-long marriage, the former lovers reportedly “will always care for each other.”
According to a representative for the Mamma Mia! star, “Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than 6 years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart.”

The surprising discovery comes after the ex-couple sold their expansive Tribeca penthouse in New York City for a staggering $15.8 million in 2020.
Streep later bought a $4 million mansion in Pasadena, California.
Despite attending numerous high-profile public events together throughout their marriage, Gummer and Streep primarily kept their romance out of the spotlight.
In a rare statement on her then-long-standing relationship with Gummer in 2002, Streep revealed their key to a successful marriage.
“Goodwill and a willingness to bend—and to shut up every once in a while,” she told Vogue at the time.
“There’s no road map on how to raise a family; it’s always an enormous negotiation,” Streep remarked.
“But I have a holistic need to work and to have huge ties of love in my life.”

Streep and Gummer’s divorce is one of several that have occurred this year, with Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness also just announcing their separation.
In a joint statement released last month, the couple stated, “We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage.”
“Our journey is changing, and we’ve decided to split up to pursue our individual growth.”
“Our family has always been and will always be our top priority.” With thanks, love, and kindness, we embark on the next chapter. We appreciate your consideration for our privacy while our family navigates this adjustment in all of our lives.”
In other news, Jada Pinkett Smith recently revealed that she and her husband Will Smith had been separated for seven years, comparable to Gummer and Streep.
