Aimee Copeland, 24, was a graduate student at the University of Georgia when her life was permanently changed. Her friends and she decided to go ziplining over a lake. However, the cable snapped during Aimee’s spin, leading her to crash and lose her leg.

To make matters worse, she acquired a flesh-eating illness, necessitating the amputation of both of her hands and legs after 11 operations and difficult recuperation.

Despite her difficult circumstances, Aimee gradually adjusted to her new life and eventually became an advocate for amputee and disability rights. She even went on to earn a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of West Georgia.

A photo of Aimee wearing a bikini on the beach recently went viral on social media. Aimee boldly displays her body in the photo, replete with scars and missing limbs. She urges others to embrace their defects and find beauty in them.

Aimee’s tale is one of bravery, fortitude, and tenacity. Through her public speaking engagements and social media posts, she has influenced thousands of people. Her message is clear: what matters is not what you have, but what you do with what you have.
