While people in grocery store were confused, service dog saved the owner…

Service dogs may be a life-saving resource for many people with medical issues. These devoted friends are particularly educated to sense when their owner is in distress and respond appropriately, whether it’s by fetching medicine or asking for assistance.

One video, which shows the moment one dog responds after his owner had a seizure in a grocery store, demonstrates how great these service animals can be.

According to WGHP, Amber Laudicina of North Carolina suffers from sudden seizures as a result of chemotherapy-related brain damage after beating a brain tumor in 2010.

Koda, an 11-month-old service dog that she has trained to respond when she has a seizure, is thankfully with her.

And one of those instances was captured on tape. Amber was shopping at her neighborhood Harris & Teeter. Amber begins to show indicators of a seizure while training her dog in the aisle, including a little delay in body language and unsteady motions.

Koda began to see something was wrong before his owner noticed, and he barked in alarm. Koda stands by Amber’s side as she slumps to the ground, ensuring she doesn’t get hurt.

Amber was in a “dazed state,” but Koda could tell something was wrong. He barked, and luckily, an employee familiar with their circumstances recognized that if Koda barks, something is awry.

The employee then takes over and calls for emergency assistance, while Koda stands and watches calmly. Amber said that despite the fact that Koda is still in training and that his leash interfered with several of his responsibilities, he “did very well.”

“He literally saved my life,” Amber told WGHP. “He prevented me from actually getting hurt and ending up truly in the hospital with a concussion or something worse.”

Amber noted in the video that it was his first actual emergency situation, and he “did amazing.” “You can train and train for this, but you don’t know how far you’ve come until it actually happens,” she said in a blog post.

Amber also applauded the grocery workers, stating they went above and beyond with their reaction.

“Typically, employees do not sit with me or anything like that.” “They usually just stand around and wait for EMTs,” Amber explained.

“[The assistant manager] pulled out all the stops,” Amber explained to WXII. “For as long as I have had service dogs and as long as I have actually been sick, I have never experienced someone take on a situation like she did.”

According to the publication, EMS arrived to check on Amber, but she did not require hospitalization.

Amber has also created a GoFundMe campaign to praise the manager for her life-saving acts.

It’s not often that a situation like this is captured on tape, and it’s incredible to witness Koda react to his owner’s health problem in real-time. It serves as a reminder of how beneficial service dogs can be to those in need.
