Once, a family held a special tradition wherein they passed down a beautiful sapphire ring to the eldest daughter on her 11th birthday. This ring held significant sentimental value as it had once belonged to their grandmother. When Lily turned 11, she, too, received this precious heirloom, despite being adopted. Lily cherished the ring deeply, choosing to wear it on a chain around her neck to ensure its safety.
However, one day, Lily returned home from spending time with her aunt, Mia, visibly distressed. She barely greeted her parents before rushing to her room in tears. When her mom checked on her, Lily disclosed that Aunt Mia had taken away her cherished ring.

Aunt Mia held the belief that, being adopted, Lily shouldn’t possess the ring, as it should exclusively remain within the biological family. Lily’s mom, on the other hand, comforted her daughter, emphasizing that family transcends mere DNA.
The following day, Lily’s mom insisted on the return of the ring from Aunt Mia. However, Aunt Mia refused, stating she would only give it back if she had a daughter of her own. Lily’s mom threatened police involvement if the ring wasn’t returned, but Aunt Mia dismissed it as an overreaction.
As the dispute escalated, Lily’s grandmother sided with Aunt Mia, citing the importance of preserving tradition. Contrarily, Lily’s mom remained steadfast, asserting that family is defined by love, not solely by blood.
