During a White House Press Briefing in September 2023, Fox News Channel’s White House Correspondent, Peter Doocy, showcased his adeptness at provocation, eliciting a heated response from White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre with his inquiry about Biden’s border policy. Doocy’s probing question, delivered right from the start, was, “Thank you, Karine. So, what terminology does the White House employ when addressing the situation where 10,000 individuals cross the border illegally in a single day?”
This initial query sparked a contentious exchange. Jean-Pierre initially evaded addressing the question directly, retorting, “So, Peter, how would you describe it when the GOP presents a—wait, no—” sensing her avoidance, Doocy interjected, prompting Jean-Pierre to retort sharply, “No, no, no, no, no, no, you can’t—”

The exchange escalated into a verbal confrontation, with Doocy persisting in seeking an answer while Jean-Pierre vociferously rebuffed him, ultimately refusing to respond and moving on, stating, “I attempted to address the question, and you interrupted me.”
Undeterred, Doocy revisited the question the following day, pressing Jean-Pierre for a response once more. Upon being called upon, he reiterated, “I—same question,” to which Jean-Pierre chuckled, and Doocy reiterated, “Same question as yesterday.”
When Jean-Pierre requested a repetition of the previous day’s question that had triggered the confrontation, Doocy restated, “What is the terminology used when 10,000 individuals cross the border illegally in a single day?”

Rather than solely dismissing Doocy this time, Jean-Pierre provided a partial response, emphasizing the administration’s actions on immigration reform and enforcement. She asserted, “On day one of this administration, the President initiated comprehensive immigration reform, addressing a long-standing issue in this country. We have taken significant measures to address the broken system, including the removal of over 250,000 individuals since May 12th. Additionally, the President has secured record funding, despite opposition from House Republicans.”
Jean-Pierre further defended the administration’s efforts, contrasting them with the previous administration’s policies and accusing Republican lawmakers of undermining border security.
