Woman alters the words to ‘Jolene’ and has the internet in stitches with her performance

Everyone who is a Dolly Parton fan, and even those who aren’t, has surely heard her song “Jolene.” Even after its release over 35 years ago, “Jolene” continues to be one of her most popular songs. It’s a hit with everybody.

Parton stated that her husband Carl Dean’s visit to a neighboring bank inspired the lyrics to the song “Jolene.” A cashier with flaming red hair flirted with him while he was there. He and Parton hadn’t been married long, and she wasn’t pleased with the girl’s antics.

As a result, she wrote the song “Please Don’t Steal My Boyfriend.” Regarding the song title… While she was on tour, a little fan jumped on stage to get her autograph. The fan’s name is Jolene.

Garnetta Rickett, a parody artist, is one of my favorites. She excels in her profession and recently appeared on the Bob and Sheri morning talk show. It all began when Sheri heard Rickett’s version of “Jolene.”

Sheri claims she was “on the floor snorting laughter” when seeing the parody. During the debate, she asked why Rickett chose the song “Jolene” to parody. “Well, I had a lot of friends at the time grumbling about their spouses or boyfriends being underfoot,” she tells me.

Ladies at home with their partners, you’re not alone in hoping they’ll hurry up and return to work. Rickett has a musical background, sings, and appears in practically all of Parton’s videos.

Sherri informed the morning show co-hosts that being confined at home with a partner or lover isn’t like a Hallmark movie. Rickett chimed in, claiming that it was actually more like “Misery.”

Rickett has spent an extended period of time in quarantine as a caregiver for her 76-year-old mother, who is in hospice. She said she had become so proficient at it that she could teach others how to live.

Rickett went on to say that she listens to Parton all the time and really likes this song. As a result, after hearing it on a YouTube channel, she understood she needed to create a parody of it. The rest, as they say, was history.

In her parody, Rickett appears wearing a bathrobe, and her hair is a jumbled mess. She starts by saying she’s sick and tired of the guarantee and has had enough of it. Soon after, she began singing “Jolene.” She changes the lyrics from “Please don’t take my boyfriend” to “Please come and collect my man.”

She hopes that someone will steal her guy as soon as possible. “He’s large and powerful, like a bear; he even has all his hair,” she continues to sing. “But I can’t stand him, Jolene.” Her facial expressions are beautiful. It’s hardly surprising that she’s renowned as the parody queen.

Late-night shenanigans. Another “Jolene” parody; I hope you enjoy it! Please join my Facebook group quarantine parodies and such to see all of my parody videos! Don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel, G Rickett. I would much appreciate it! Be cautious out there. I don’t own the rights to this music. Dolly Parton’s Twitter account is @dollyparton.
