Finally, amazing news about honoring the late actress has been announced!

Betty White’s visage will soon be on postage stamps!

On Friday, Nov. 15, the United States Postal Service (USPS) released the stamp designs for 2025, disclosing that one of the stamps would include a portrait of The Golden Girls star, who died in 2021 at the age of 99.

“An icon of American television, Betty White… shared her wit and warmth with viewers for seven decades—including roles on The Golden Girls and The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” the U.S. Postal Service stated. “The comedic actor, who gained younger generations of fans as she entered her 90s, was also revered as a compassionate advocate for animals.”

Dale Stephanos drew the digital artwork of White for the stamp, which was based on Kwaku Alston’s 2010 photograph of the actress, while USPS art director Greg Breeding developed the entire stamp.

On Friday, Stephanos shared the news on Instagram, showcasing an image of the stamp along with the caption, “I’m thrilled to share the news that my @bettymwhite stamp for the @uspostalservice will soon be available.” I would like to send a letter back to my 18-year-old self with this stamp, assuring him that everything will be okay.

The legend was a popular comic mainstay among fans and other performers alike, with many offering touching tributes to her following her passing.

“The world looks different now,” Ryan Reynolds, who co-starred with White in the 2009 film The Proposal, posted on X (previously Twitter) at the time. “She was great at defying expectation.”

President Joe Biden referred to White as an “American treasure” at a 2022 NBC tribute to the comedian.

“She challenged conventions,” Biden remarked. “With each giggle and grin, she opened our hearts. But, most importantly, she moved our spirits and the soul of our nation. What a wonderful present that we will always treasure. God bless you, Betty. “We all love you.”

Other USPS 2025 stamp designs include an Allen Toussaint stamp to honor “the virtuoso pianist, singer, songwriter, composer, arranger, and producer,” a Year of the Snake design to celebrate the Lunar New Year, and an Appalachian Trail series, among others.

“This early glimpse into our 2025 stamp program demonstrates our commitment to providing a diverse range of subjects and designs for both philatelists and stamp enthusiasts,” Lisa Bobb-Semple, USPS Stamp Services director, said in a statement.

USPS also announced that more stamps will be available in the upcoming weeks.
