Could sparks be flying between Chelsea Handler and Ralph Fiennes?
Late Sunday night, photographers captured the 50-year-old comedian and novelist and the 62-year-old Oscar contender together outside this year’s Vanity Fair Oscar celebration. As they exited the soirée, the unusual couple looked to be conversing and laughing.
Handler donned a glittering silver strapless gown and gold pointed-toe heels, while Fiennes dressed conservatively in a wide-lapeled black suit and matching bowtie.

Handler and Fiennes’ representatives did not reply to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
The historic Oscars after-party was not Handler’s first encounter with the Conclave star during the awards season. During her third year presenting the Critics Choice Awards, the comedian said that Fiennes had played a variety of characters, including a vicious Nazi, an evil ruler (Voldemort), and a celibate cardinal. I beseech you, never play Vladimir Putin. “I can’t do it again.”

Later in the event, Handler persuaded the candidate to recreate a buzzy scene from Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson’s sexy movie Babygirl. The movie “motivated me to employ a new attractive intern,” she said, before downing a glass of milk while Fiennes repeatedly cooed Dickinson’s line from the film: “Good girl. Good day, girl. “Good girl.”
From 1993 until 1997, Fiennes wed actress Alex Kingston, after which he became involved with Francesca Annis. Since her breakup from fellow comedian Jo Koy in 2022, Handler has only hinted at her dating life.

Handler was spotted with a dazzling list of pals at Sunday night’s Vanity Fair party at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, including Paris Hilton, Rita Ora, Leslie Bibb, Catherine O’Hara, Ken Jeong, Monica Lewinsky, and Katie Couric.
Meanwhile, Fiennes posed for photos with Patricia Clarkson and Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Radhika Jones. The British actor was upbeat following his Best Actor Oscar nomination for Conclave.
