A NASA astronaut has revealed how much she makes working for the Florida-based space agency.
I would imagine that stating you work with NASA is a bit of a stretch, so it’s understandable why many would choose to work in the field.
However, while having a real love for anything is always beneficial when determining what you want to do with your life, you still want to make a solid living.
And, while you would expect working for NASA to be a lucrative career path, one astronaut who has formerly worked for the space agency says it isn’t.
Nicole Stott, a retired NASA astronaut, engineer, and aquanaut, told LADbible about the job and her salary in three words.
Stott had a tremendous career with NASA, flying on two excursions and spending more than 100 days in space. She also helped launch the STS-128 mission and spent three months living on the International Space Station.

When LADbible asked the former NASA employee about the compensation astronauts receive for their work, she responded, “Not much.” A government civil servant. You don’t become an astronaut to make a lot of money.
NASA reports that the average yearly income for astronauts at the space agency is $152,258; however, this can vary depending on education and amount of experience.
So now that everything’s cleared up, Stott was asked if it’s possible to have sex in space, which is, of course, the burning topic on everyone’s mind.
“Probably. “I don’t believe there is anything that would physically prevent you from having sex in space,” she told LADbible.
“I don’t know if anyone had sex while they were there, and I didn’t.”
Stott was also questioned if there is a speed restriction in space, to which the former astronaut responded, “You know, I don’t think there is a speed limit. It’s possible, but I don’t think so. And you know, Newton was right about all these laws of motion and whatnot; you get it going, and it will keep moving until somebody stops it.”
