Safeguarding our children is our primary priority from the moment they are born, as I believe any parent would agree. The thought of our children becoming ill or injured is frequently unbearable, which is why we go to such efforts to keep them safe. Most of us don’t even think about it much; it’s an instinct that kicks in the moment we set eyes on our child.
Regrettably, despite our utmost diligence, unavoidable mishaps may occur. Most parents will be scared when something happens that they can’t control, especially if it’s an accident or hardship they didn’t expect. Jackie Fedro has some experience with it. Her daughter’s terrible tragedy occurred in 2016, but we believe it is still relevant today. According to BuzzFeed, Jackie determined that 2016 would be the year that her 13-year-old daughter Gabbie could receive her mobile. Gabbie received an LG d500 as a Christmas present.
“One of the reasons we finally gave in and bought her a cell phone is so we can keep in touch with her more with her crazy practice schedule,” Jackie told BuzzFeed about her decision.

However, what followed was a nightmare none of them could have predicted. Gabbie was on her smartphone in her room one day when Jackie heard her cry. “She came running downstairs after it [happened], grabbing her neck,” Jackie told me later. “She was in so much pain she was screaming hysterically.”
“It’s the worst feeling in the world as a mother to see your child cry in anguish and not know how to heal her. It took her about five minutes to tell us what had transpired.
Gabbie revealed to her mother that she had been using her phone while it was in the charger. The 13-year-old experienced an electric shock, and the current ran up the charging cord, through her phone, and into her metal necklace, scorching her neck.

Jackie said to BuzzFeed, “She suffered painful second-degree burns and now will be scarred all the way around her neck.”
Speaking about the unsettling situation, Jackie urged other parents to take into account the hazards of cellphones, a topic rarely discussed or comprehended.
“With so many kids using phones nowadays, parents need to be warned about the harm that they can cause,” Jackie said to me.
How scary! Have you ever heard of anything like this occurring before? I surely didn’t.
