Juliana Farris Mazurkewicz was on her way to pick up her kid from daycare in Hockley, Texas, when she observed a stark statement on the door that surprised her.
The notice did not request that parents bring in materials or monitor their children’s behavior. Instead, the notice requested that the parents alter their own conduct.
Though some people found the sign insulting, Juliana absolutely agreed with it, causing her to take a picture and share it on social media.
She was taken aback when her post went viral!
The sign read:

“I was surprised, but I didn’t have any negative feelings toward the daycare,” Juliana told reporters. “I know that the staff is concerned about the children’s best interests, even if it means offending the parent.”
Some social media users did not agree with Juliana’s interpretation of the sign.
“This is ridiculous,” commented one social media user. “Who am I to tell a parent of a child not to use their phone?” Could they be effective? Or if you have an emergency or anything else that is none of their concern.”
