Kelly Clarkson explained why her talk show was moving to New York City

The musician went on to say, “I’m getting too old to work in a place that isn’t healthy and enjoyable.”

More information about Kelly Clarkson’s intentions for transferring her talk show to New York City is being released.

The singer, 41, talked honestly about the future of The Kelly Clarkson Show in an interview with Nancy O’Dell on TalkShopLive on Thursday, claiming that the shift was required for her and her children, including son Remington “Remy” Alexander, 7, and daughter River Rose, 8.

“I appreciate the question because I haven’t had much chance to talk about it,” I spoke with my team even back in January. “I said, “You guys,” and I was crying because I’ve created a team with such an incredible group of people,” she added of the show, which will begin its fifth season this autumn and was recently renewed through 2025.

“We’ve had a lot of success, and I really enjoy working with everyone because our relationships are so strong.” As a result, I called them to let them know what was going on,” Clarkson explained. “Either I can’t continue the show, or I must travel to the East Coast,” she went on to say.

“Covid pointed out that being alone and so far away from your family is not good for anyone,” she went on to say. “And my family is from the East Coast, specifically North Carolina.” There was a lot of personal stuff going on, so it was one of those things I had to do.”

Clarkson has two children with Brandon Blackstock, whom she divorced in 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage.

Even though Clarkson stated that things are still being worked out in the background, both emotionally and professionally, she noted that the move is partially prompted by her wish to avoid working in an environment that “isn’t healthy.”

“I’m getting too old to work in a place that isn’t joyful and healthy,” she explained. I didn’t want to do it since I had to do it for years in meetings and dealing with sometimes quite harsh individuals. For the time being, I’m concentrating on the discussion show while also working on other projects.”

The talk show’s working environment made headlines earlier this month after a Rolling Stone article alleged that producers “overworked” and “underpaid” crew members, who said that “working at the show was traumatizing to their mental health.”

Clarkson responded to the allegations in an Instagram message, saying, “In my 20 years in the entertainment business, I’ve always led with my heart and what I felt was right.” Finding out if someone on The Kelly Clarkson Show feels ignored or mistreated is unacceptable since I like my team.”

“I have always been committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment at The Kelly Clarkson Show, and I will continue to be.” As we prepare to relocate to the East Coast, I am more committed than ever to ensuring that both our moving crew and our new staff in New York are the best and nicest in the business.”

“For that build, all senior personnel, including myself, will receive leadership training.” Every company can always improve and ensure that everyone is being or becoming their best self, especially when it comes to leadership. “To eliminate any notion of poison,” the former American Idol participant explained.
