For archeologists, ancient Egypt has remained one of the most interesting eras of antiquity, and one wants to now expose some of its hidden mysteries related to the pyramids.
Egypt’s former Minister of State for Antiquities Affairs, Zahi Hawass, has expressed excitement about a planned trip further inside the Giza pyramids.
Hawass, who appears to be channeling his inner Rick O’Connell, has stated that he expects to discover the mysteries hidden beneath the Pyramid of Khufu.
He told The Sun that there are a series of doors that are tough to reach, and no one knows where they go.
He commented that while he had previously discovered discoveries inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu, they had simply left him with more unanswered problems.
“I think, until now, the secret doors that I found inside the Great Pyramid are really a discovery that needs many questions and many answers,” he told The Guardian.
“I discovered the so-called three doorways inside the Great Pyramid. one on the second chamber’s south entrance with two copper handles.

“We discovered a second one twenty-one centimeters behind that one, and in the northern tunnel, we discovered a third door with two copper handles.”
“On December 5th, I’m leading a team to see, discover, and answer the questions about these doors.”
Hawass has already written about his fascination with pyramids, claiming that the Khufu pyramid remains famous among archeologists due to its extremely complicated interior.
Speaking of his next Hollywood-worthy trip on December 5th, he stated that the discovery of more doors or corridors might help provide a better understanding of the functions of the pyramids’ inner construction.
“We are planning to clean the south shaft from outside to learn if it does open to the outside,” he went on to say.

If it does, it’s possible that the king used it as a symbolic door to enter the Netherworld.
“If it is sealed, we must return to the Westcar Papyri and read about Khufu’s search for Thoth’s documents to aid him in the design of his pyramid.”
“Only further research into the shafts can reveal their function, solving one of the many mysteries of the Great Pyramid.”
We can only pray that the eminent archaeologist does not come upon any flesh-eating scarabs. Best wishes to him.
