Disney on Ice skater Anastasia Olson is hospitalized

Anastasia Olson, a 31-year-old Disney on Ice skater portraying Princess Belle in the Beauty and the Beast segment, is in “serious condition” after a fall during a performance at Target Center in Minneapolis. The incident occurred during the 11 a.m. show on Saturday when Olson was injured while performing a lift in a pair skating routine.

A spokesperson for Feld Entertainment, the parent company of Disney on Ice, confirmed the accident and Olson’s hospitalization: “The skater who portrayed Belle was injured while performing a lift during a pair skating part of the routine and fell. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.”

As of Monday afternoon, officials at Hennepin County Medical Center reported that Olson remains in “serious condition.” The performance continued after the accident, with spectators expressing gratitude for the remaining staff and performers who maintained the show’s magic.

An audience member recounted the incident, noting that it happened approximately 40 minutes into the show during a shaky lift. Another spectator mentioned that Belle fell after the beast stumbled and dropped her on the ice, leading to immediate seizures.

No additional information regarding Olson’s health condition has been released. Disney On Ice expressed appreciation for well-wishes from fans, and the spokesperson stated, “Disney On Ice appreciates the good wishes from our fans as our team member recovers.”
