Ina Garten posted a lovely flashback shot from her wedding.
The author of Be Ready When the Luck Happens, who turns 77 on February 2, married her husband, Jeffrey Garten, 78, on December 22, 1968, when she was 20 and he was 22. More than 56 years later, on Tuesday, Jan. 28, she shared a heartfelt flashback photo from their wedding day on Instagram and Facebook.
As a Valentine’s Day present for fans, she also said that she is creating a music playlist featuring her favorite duets. Last year, she curated a playlist called “Ina’s Favorite Love Songs” specifically for that special someone to celebrate the romantic holiday.
“I’m putting together a playlist for Valentine’s Day with my favorite duets,” Ina captioned her photo. “It will be accessible on Apple Music and Spotify. Please share your favorite duets, and I will attempt to add them! ❤️❤️”

The Barefoot Contessa star cherishes memories of her wedding.
“It was the perfect day for a wedding,” she told PEOPLE exclusively in late 2017. The ceremony was held at her parents’ home, which she described as “a very contemporary rock cliff in the woods in Connecticut” and included a spectacular winter surprise.
“In the middle of the ceremony, it began to snow. It was lovely and romantic, but by the end of the night, the poor parking attendants had to pull everyone out!” she said.
Ina and Jeffrey’s unwavering support for one another has been consistent throughout their marriage.

In 2018, Jeffrey shared with PEOPLE that he had the fortunate experience of growing up together in a highly compatible manner. “We’re like two vines that grew and wrapped themselves around one another.”
During a live Q&A at PEOPLE’s headquarters in December 2024, Ina discussed her and her longstanding partner’s decision not to have children.
“I think Jeffrey would’ve been a great parent, but I don’t know whether I would’ve been a good parent or not,” she told me. “But anyway, I’m totally happy with the decision.”
“I see why people have children, obviously,” she said. “My friends have children, and they adore them. They have fantastic families, which I very much enjoy. However, it took me a considerable amount of time to fully comprehend this.
