During his Super Bowl halftime show performance, Kendrick Lamar surprised Serena Williams by bringing her on stage.
The rapper was born in Compton, California, the same place as Williams, albeit the tennis star was born in Michigan and moved throughout her youth.
Her involvement seems to exacerbate the situation, considering that Drake was previously believed to be dating Williams.
During the 2024 ESPY Awards, which Williams hosted, she stated, “If I’ve learned anything this year, it’s that none of us should ever pick a fight with Kendrick Lamar.

“He will make your hometown not like you; the next time Drake sits courtside at a Raptors game, they’re going to Forest Gump him, seats taken.”
On Threads, one person said, “The fact that Serena Williams used to date Drake and Kendrick got her up there crip walking, I will never recover.” Super Bowl halftime show.”
While someone responded, “Ngl I saw her, adored her, but had no understanding of what she was doing there until I learned she and Drake used to date. I loved the pettiness.”
In a YouTube video, Williams remarked, “Man, I did not crip walk like that at Wimbledon; I would’ve been fined.”
The backlash comes after Kendrick appeared to use his platform to mock Drake during the Super Bowl, which pitted the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles, reigniting the rivalry from the dramatic 2023 game in which the Chiefs defeated their opponents.
Drake is presently suing UMG, the umbrella business that owns both his and Kendrick’s record labels, for defamation over Kendrick’s song, “Not Like Us.”
The two music artists have long been feuding, but their dispute reached a climax last year when both Drake and Kendrick released diss recordings against one another.

On May 4, Kendrick released ‘Not Like Us,’ after Drake’s release of ‘Push Ups’ a few weeks earlier.
However, Kendrick’s tune won in terms of streaming figures, with over a billion Spotify streams, compared to about 170 million for ‘Push Ups.'”.
The lyrics for ‘Not Like Us’ read: “Say, Drake, I hear you like ’em young/You better not ever go to cell block one/To any b**** that talk to him and them in love.”Just make sure you keep your little sister away from him. People say that Chubbs is the only one who receives your leftovers.
“And Party at the party playin’ with his nose now/And Baka had a strange case, why is he here?/Certified Lover Boy? Certified p**ophiles/Wop, wop, wop, wop, wop, Dot, f*** ’em up/Wop, wop, wop, wop, wop, I’ll do my thing.
“Why are you trolling like a b****? Aren’t you tired? I’m going to try to hit a chord, which will most likely be A minor.”
While rapping at the halftime show, Kendrick conspicuously omitted the song’s most contentious verse.
