Ron Howard shares a never-before-seen picture of his daughter Bryce Dallas Howard to celebrate her 44th birthday

Ron Howard is celebrating his eldest daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard!

The filmmaker, 71, celebrated his daughter’s 44th birthday on Sunday, March 2, by posting a touching flashback photo of himself and wife Cheryl Howard enjoying Bryce’s special day years ago.

“Happy birthday, Daughter!” “You’ve always made your mom and me happy and extremely proud,” Ron began the description to his post.

“But the scope of what you’ve achieved with your family and career and the future you are building exceeds our wildest hopes from back when you were this adorable kid we loved so much,” he said later.

Along with Bryce, Ron and Cheryl, both 71, have twins Jocelyn and Paige Carlyle, as well as son Reed Cross.

Ron celebrated his own birthday the day before, and Bryce paid him a poignant tribute on social media.

The Argylle actor captioned a snapshot of the father-daughter combo sitting together at an event with Bryce resting her head on Ron’s shoulder, “I love you so much, Dad, more than words can say 🥹❤️.”

Ron started his career as a child actor on series like The Andy Griffith Show and the popular comedy Happy Days before moving on to directing and producing. According to his IMDb website, he has a number of upcoming projects, including working as a producer on a Curious George feature and as an executive producer on a documentary on Barbara Walters.

Bryce, on the other hand, has followed in her father’s footsteps, appearing in Jurassic World, Spider-Man 3, Black Mirror, and The Help, as well as directing many film and television programs, including several Star Wars-themed productions.

While presenting on a panel at MegaCon in Orlando, Fla., last month, Ron expressed a desire to shield Bryce from the more challenging parts of becoming a child actor when she first “showed a real aptitude” for performance.
