I’m extremely grateful to have Jim Carrey. This is particularly true in the wake of Robin Williams’ passing. Jim is among the best comedians I’ve ever encountered; his ability to elicit laughter without resorting to profanity or vulgarity is truly remarkable.
Jim is one of those superstars that is impossible to dislike, and he remains my favorite comic and comedy actor of all time.
However, his sudden absence from the public glare has caused alarm among his closest friends.

Jim Carrey, 62, is to the comedy genre of the film industry, as Eminem is to hip-hop, Mike Tyson is to boxing, Michael Jordan is to basketball, and Arnold Schwarzenegger is to bodybuilding.
The American-Canadian actor rose to prominence in the 1990s, captivating audiences with his rubbery body motions and fluid facial expressions. He has a number of outstanding films to his name, but the two-time Golden Globe winner is also a loving family guy and father.
Given his challenging history, Jim understands the importance of family and did not want to make the same mistakes as his own parents. “I had an odd childhood; it was a lot more messed up than I thought, apparently,” Jim Carrey stated in 2003.
The famous actor was born in 1962 in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, and was reared as a Roman Catholic with his three elder siblings. Jim’s family moved frequently as a child and resided in Toronto’s suburbs. As a child, Carrey lived a solitary life and “never understood the importance of socializing.”
When he was eight, the natural-born comic began making faces in front of the mirror and realized he had a flair for imitation. Despite Jim’s efforts to fill the house with laughter, the family suffered a major setback when his father lost his job at the age of 51. “It literally crushed his heart. “It was difficult to watch,” Jim told the Edmonton Journal in 1995.
With his family in crisis, Jim dropped out of high school to support his mother and father. For a period, the entire family worked as janitors and security guards at a nearby wheel-rim factory, working eight-hour hours.
However, it was a poisonous environment; the family despised working there and quickly recognized they were losing themselves in their rage. They quit, but now they had nowhere to reside. His parents moved into their Volkswagen, and Jim and his brother spent months living in a tent.
“For a while, we pitched a tent on my sister’s lawn in the countryside. After that, we spent some time camping throughout Ontario. We would utilize the amenities there, and we had a great time. “We had more fun there than we did doing this job, which we didn’t enjoy,” Jim said.
When Jim became 17, he was able to support his family by doing comedy at various bars in downtown Toronto. Unfortunately, Jim’s family’s financial position prevented him from following his desire for a career in show business throughout his childhood.
But while performing in Toronto, Jim created a name for himself, and when he was 19, he relocated to Los Angeles.

“I never had another nightmare, and I never had another fear.”
Jim Carrey fell in love in the late 1980s after meeting Melissa Womer, a former actress and Comedy Store waiter. Melissa “had two jobs, and Jim made $25 a night doing standup—but their love for each other overcame all obstacles.”

Jane, together with his father, has participated in a number of autism fundraising events. The personal life of Jim Carrey’s daughter has experienced ups and downs. She married Alex Santana, a performer and guitarist, in 2009.
Sadly, the union was short-lived. After a year of separation, the couple had a son in February 2010.
“Jane is going to be a great mom,” Jim stated as he received the news.
Jane’s only kid, Jackson Riley Santana, is now twelve.
“I’m excited about it because I never really got along with girls growing up,” Jane told People shortly before Jackson’s birth.
“I was concerned that if it was a girl, she would dislike me, you know? So I’m really pleased with the guy.”
