Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s attempt to “build bridges and move on” is “far too late,” according to a royal analyst.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have suffered a string of humiliating defeats as part of their apparent “charm offensive.”
Meghan recently marked her 44th birthday with a social media message in which she expressed gratitude to her “husband, friends, and family for making it so special.”
“To those of you I don’t know but who send love every day, thank you very much.
“Please know I feel and appreciate it,” she said beside a photo of herself blowing out candles on a cake.

In recent months, Harry appears to have taken measures toward peace with King Charles and the Royal Family.
In July, delegates from the Duke and King Charles attended a secret peace session in London.
It was then revealed that Harry had also offered to share his diary dates with the company, ostensibly to eliminate engagement overlaps and maybe promote a meeting.
Former royal editor Duncan Larcombe has termed these initiatives as a “charm offensive.”
“They’re on a charm offensive and have employed people to help improve their image and show they’re trying to build bridges and move on,” he told me.
“The goal is to make them look like nice men wanting to make friends.
However, the analyst said their efforts were “far too late” to make a difference.
To make matters worse, the Sussexes have had a number of setbacks, including Harry’s very public feud with his Sentebale charity.

The Duke was absolved of any claims of bullying and other abuses in the Charity Commission’s report this week, but he was chastised, along with opposing chair Dr. Sophie Chandauka, for allowing the feud to be publicized.
“It’s embarrassing for him to be told that he harmed the charity’s reputation and jeopardized its valuable work.
“He cared about the cause, but allowing it to play out in public backfired. He’ll undoubtedly be furious and offended that it’s poured gasoline on an already raging fire,” Larcombe told The Mirror.
The former editor said that the Duchess of Sussex was also facing criticism for her social media tactics, stating that “Everything Meghan does seems to attract negativity, particularly in the UK.”
“She’s a really sensitive person who takes things personally, so it’s likely that she believes she can’t do anything right most of the time.

“She was heavily criticized for some of her recent videos, and when she goes quiet, she’s criticized for that, too,” he told me.
The commentator’s thoughts appear to have been reinforced by a recent YouGov survey, which found that 67% of the British people had an unfavorable opinion of Meghan and 62% felt the same way about Harry.
YouGov reported the results as “little different” from its last survey in May, while the Duchess’ figure remained the joint-lowest on record.
