A single mother of three gets fired abruptly for failing to arrive on time at work. Her 11-year-old son agrees to speak with her ex-boss on her behalf since she is distraught after losing her job

Aiden was sitting in the living room, watching his favorite television show. Normally, he’d be out at the park with his buddies at this time, but due to the heat, he chose to stay at home.

Mrs. Murphy, who looked after him and his two siblings, Maya and Harry, when his mother, Helen, was abroad, had offered him a delicious lemonade when he got home from school. When the front door burst open, he was enjoying his lovely drink and watching TV.

Helen arrived home earlier than usual, but she didn’t ask Aiden about his day at school or even acknowledge his presence on the sofa, as she usually did. Instead, she went directly to her room and shut the door.

Helen returned to find Mrs. Murphy in the kitchen. “She arrived home early today. “Is she sick?” questioned the elder lady. She rang Helen’s doorbell. “Since you’ve returned, Helen, I’ll leave now.” Please let me know if you want assistance with anything. But are you okay?”

Mrs. Murphy noticed Helen’s eyes were red and swollen as she opened the door slightly. “I’m sorry, I just need some alone time.” You are free to leave. I appreciate your assistance.”

“Oh, not a problem at all,” Mrs. Murphy responded, smiling. “But if you need anything, just give me a call, okay?” Take precautions.”

Helen nodded and withdrew to her bed, burying her face in her hands and fighting the tears that streamed down her cheeks.

Aiden was preoccupied with his program until he saw Helen distressed. He dashed up to Helen’s room as Mrs. Murphy departed.

“Mom?” he inquired. “Are you all right?” Please refrain from crying.” He hugged her gently.

“I’m so sorry, Aiden,” she said quietly. “I’m a terrible mother.” awful, awful mother…”

“Not at all, Mom!” Aiden reacted angrily. “You are the finest mother! “How come you’d say that?”

“Because honey,” she sniffed. “I was fired. I’m no longer employed. I’m not sure how I’ll pay the expenses. I needed to cook breakfast early in the morning, get you off at the bus stop, get groceries, and do other things, which is why I was late for work. They didn’t hesitate to fire me for it!

“I was exhausted and stressed the entire time, but I didn’t give up.” Nobody was interested in hearing why I was late! Sorry, Mom won’t be able to find work for a time.

“Don’t be concerned. You’ll be OK. “We’ll be fine, too,” Aiden assured her while holding her.

Mr. Mitchell dropped his spectacles and gave a little smile. “Sure. Following you, young man…”
Aiden did not return home after school the next day. Instead, he went to his mother’s office and spoke with her employer. He got her workplace location on her business card and tried to rush inside via the front gate when he arrived. But he was stopped at the door by two soldiers.

“Where do you think you’re going, little man?” one of the soldiers asked him.

“It’s critical. “I need to speak with my mother’s boss,” he said.

“Don’t you realize kids aren’t allowed in here?” Is your mother there at the office? I may contact her at:

“No, she’s not!” Aiden responded angrily. “That is why I need to speak with her boss.” Please move quickly so that I can get inside.”

The guards exchanged looks and were ready to eject Aiden when they heard a voice say, “What’s the matter? ” Who is that small child?”

Mr. Mitchell’s automobile pulled over shortly after that, and he got out. “What’s going on here?” he wondered.

Mr. Mitchell nodded closely as the guards informed him of the entire incident. He then turned to face Aiden. “Hello, I’m the owner of this business.” Andrew Mitchell is my name. Would you want to meet with me in my office? “We can’t have these discussions on the streets,” he urged.

“Yes, please,” said Aiden. “And I’m in a hurry, so it had better be quick.”

Mr. Mitchell dropped his spectacles and gave a little smile. “Sure. Following you, young man…”

As the two sat in Mr. Mitchell’s office, he instructed his secretary to fetch Aiden something to drink from the cafeteria, but Aiden declined. “I’m alright since Mom thinks it’s wrong to take stuff from strangers. Could we just discuss why I’m here quickly? Mom is expecting me at home.”

Mr. Mitchell laughed. “Of course. So, what did you want to talk about?”

“My name is Aiden, and my mom’s name is Helen,” Aiden introduced himself. “She was fired from her job yesterday, despite the fact that she had done nothing wrong. ” She was simply late for work. I know it’s not proper, but even I am occasionally late for school! You can’t be so mean to her!” My mother is very hardworking, and she has a lot on her plate every day.

“I have two younger siblings, and no matter how busy she is, Mom takes care of all of our needs. She was devastated when she was fired. Could you please give her the job back? She claims she won’t be able to pay our expenses otherwise. “As you can see, this is a serious matter!” he concluded.

Mr. Mitchell nodded, his grin hidden as he listened closely to Aiden’s naiveté. “Is that the problem, Aiden? “Is your mom in need of a new job?”

Aiden gave a nod. “Yes. I apologize if I appear to be overly prejudiced. I mean, I realize that you cannot be late for work, and I cannot be late for school. Please, however, forgive her. I’ll assist Mom around the house so she never has to be late again. I guarantee it.”

Mr. Mitchell nodded slowly. “All right, I’ll look into it,” I recommend that you go home right now. If you like, my driver can drop you off…”

“I’m fine, and thank you,” Aiden said before walking away.

When Aiden arrived home, he saw Helen on the phone, happy. When she saw him enter the house, she quickly thanked him and hung up.

“Mom, what—” Helen gripped Aiden tightly before he could finish his sentence.

“Oh, honey, I got the job back!” I was hired! That is not all. I got a raise! We no longer need to be concerned!”

Aiden grinned, thanking Mr. Mitchell from the bottom of his heart. “Congratulations, Mom,” he said quietly.

Mr. Mitchell paid Helen a visit the next day when she returned to work. “May I come in?” he said as he knocked on her office door.

“Yes, sure, sir,” she said as she rose from her seat.

“You’ve raised your boy well, Helen,” he remarked. “He is a true gentleman who is always ready to defend his mother.” I would never have let you be fired if I had understood your predicament. “Do you know what your son did?”

“I’m not sure…” Helen responded, perplexed.

Mr. Mitchell then revealed how Aiden had met him the day before and convinced him to hire her again. Helen was overcome with emotion after hearing the entire story.

But none of them knew the actual reason Mr. Mitchell rehired Helen. He could identify with Helen’s struggle since he had previously been in Aiden’s shoes as a youngster.

Our children’s conduct mirrors our upbringing. Aiden was raised to care for those he loved, so when he saw Helen upset about her work, he did the unimaginable to help her get through it.

A true manager is one who not only directs but also cares about his staff. Mr. Mitchell was a kind guy who understood Aiden’s struggle since he had gone through similar experiences as a boy.
