Adele is getting love from a fellow musical star during her most recent show!
The 36-year-old “Easy on Me” singer became upset after seeing Céline Dion in the audience at her Las Vegas residency event on Saturday, October 26.
A fan account on X shared a video of Adele performing her song “When We Were Young” and approaching Dion, 56, who was sitting in a box to the side at Caesar’s Palace’s Colosseum.
Adele burst into tears as the two embraced for many seconds before expressing a few things to Dion, who cradled Adele’s face in her hands. Dion then grasped and kissed Adele’s hand while the British singer waved at fans seated nearby. Adele said a few more words to Dion before departing to finish her performance.
A closeup look of the moving moment, also shared on X, showed Adele crying as she approached and hugged Dion, then walked away with tears on her cheeks. Dion looked to be quite emotional in the video as she embraced and spoke with her fellow singing legend. Another video showed Dion sitting back down after her romantic moment with Adele, blotting her own eyes.
Nelson and Eddy Angélil, 14, who both comforted their mother during their emotional encounter, appeared to accompany the “My Heart Will Go On” singer. One video shared on X also showed Adele stepping away from Dion and continuing to perform the song while dabbing her tear-stained face.
The powerful singers’ emotional meeting in Vegas was a full-circle event for the couple, since Adele had seen Dion perform at the same auditorium a few years before.
Adele paid Dion a backstage visit in January 2018, following her performance at the Colosseum during the “Power of Love” singer’s second Vegas engagement.
Dion expressed gratitude to Adele for attending one of her gigs in an Instagram post. I adore her so much!!”
Adele, a fan, also shared her encounter on Instagram, writing, “Queen Celine! What a concert, the ultimate pinnacle of my life; thank you so much for your attention to your audience and wild sense of humor.” Happy New Year, Lady X.”
In addition to her comment, the “Hello” singer shared a photo of herself wearing a Dion T-shirt while attending a performance.
The British singer has long been a Dion devotee, and in a 73 Questions video for Vogue in 2021, she confessed that her “proudest possession” is a framed piece of Dion’s gum.
“It’s quite wonderful,” the singer tells the publication in the video. James Corden, a friend of mine who also enjoys Carpool Karaoke, joined her for a performance. He knew how much I admired her, so he had her spit her gum on a piece of paper, which she framed for me.
Adele’s two-year Vegas residency will end in November.
While playing in Munich in September, the 16-time Grammy winner said that she intends to leave music for a “long time” once her residency ends.
In a TikTok video, Adele addressed supporters onstage, “I have 10 shows to do, but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart.”
