A little girl’s wish came true thanks to British rock and pop musician Rod Stewart, who is renowned for his distinctive, raspy voice.

When he read Sophia McKenzie’s 10-year-old article in the Daily Record, the iconic rock artist was moved to tears.

Stewart was inspired to help Sophia and her family after reading the young girl’s tale, and what the rock star did for them ultimately changed their lives.

When the 10-year-old was asked to write a letter about her future goals for a class assignment, Sophia expressed a desire for a society in which people did not have to struggle to get food. This is how the narrative began.

She wrote about how the rising cost of living crisis had an impact on her family, leaving them scrimping and depending on food banks. Sophia penned, “I have a dream that one day we will live in a world where the cost-of-living crisis stops, everything is free, and nobody struggles with not being able to eat.”

Sophia noted that her mother, Heather, skipped meals so that she and her three other siblings would have enough to eat, which led her to make the wish.

Stewart was moved to tears when he read her account and saw the image of Sophia’s letter. The musician said, “When I read this story in the Record and saw the letter Heather’s daughter wrote, it broke my heart,” and continued, “I simply had to find a way to help.”

The singer of “Sailing” gave £2500 to Sophia’s mother and her four kids. Stewart’s kind act stunned and delighted Heather, who said that the singer fulfilled her daughter’s wish.

Sophia was taken aback when Heather told her what Stewart had done for them. The mother of four lauded her selfless daughter.

Heather was pleased to have the additional cash and to have her daughter’s anxieties allayed because Sophia never asked for anything because she was constantly worried for her.

Heather revealed that she was the sole one responsible for raising her children. “This is a life-changing amount of money, and it means so much to all of us!” the mother exclaimed.

Heather was relieved to no longer be confined to a tiny area and worry about providing her children with food because she had the extra money to support her family and was on the list for a larger property.

Along with her heartfelt thanks, she gushed, “Mr. Stewart is just a great person. I am really grateful to him. From the bottom of my heart, I’m thankful. Additionally, Stewart’s kind deed garnered a lot of praise from online users.

A Facebook user said, “Well done, Rod, your [sic] amazing, not many kind people left, thank you xxx.” Others went on to say that for aiding a single mother, he was an “incredible” and “selfless” man.

Stewart received a barrage of compliments. People found his thoughtful action to be especially heartwarming because they thought it was unjust for any youngster to be concerned about food.
