Alex Rodriguez is thinking about an emotional experience.
The retired professional baseball player, 48, chatted with Jennifer Hudson, 42, on Friday’s episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show and reflected on his relationship with his two daughters, recalling how emotional he got when he dropped his older daughter off at the University of Michigan.
“You have two daughters?” Hudson inquires.
“I’ve got two daughters.” Natasha is 18 years old, and Ella is 15 years old. “And I just dropped Natasha off at college last month,” Rodriguez says.
“Oh, congratulations,” Hudson says. “How is that going?”
“Oh, Jennifer, that was hard,” Rodriguez recalls. “You know, Cynthia, my ex-wife, she’s one of my best friends on the planet.” ‘I got this,’ I said to Cynthia. Don’t be concerned. It’ll be emotional for me, but Daddy’s got this.'”
“Jennifer, I started crying the moment I came in. “And dropping off your little baby in college was the hardest thing,” he recalls.

“Oh, it hit you differently, didn’t it?” Hudson says to Rodriguez:
“She’s doing great,” Rodriguez says to the vocalist before answering. “It does, really. You are correct. You are correct. But I’m a disaster; I go back and we eat supper at night, and then I tell Ella, ‘Ella, isn’t it horrible that we miss Natasha?'”
“She says, ‘Nah, Dad, we’re fine.'” This is one-on-one time. “And tomorrow, let’s go shopping,” he offers with a giggle.
Rodriguez and his ex-wife, Cynthia Scurtis, have two kids.
Natasha stated in April that she will be continuing her studies for a BFA in musical theater at the University of Michigan.
“I still can’t believe this is a real opportunity I’ve been given, and it’s an absolute dream come true,” Natasha said at the time on Instagram.
Rodriguez also wished Natasha well with her college application, adding, “I can’t believe she’s about to graduate and head off to college.” I’m feeling everything. For the time being, go blue!
