Angelina Jolie and her daughter, Vivienne, make a stunning pair.
On Sunday, June 16, the 49-year-old actress and her 15-year-old attended the 2024 Tony Awards in honor of The Outsiders. The Jolie-produced production is up for 12 Tony Awards this year, including Best Musical.
Jolie, who is making a presentation during the event, donned a custom strapless dress by Atelier Versace in a light teal color. It had a sweetheart neckline, a corseted bodice with flowing drapery, and a velvet shrug to match. She wore a stack of bracelets on her wrist, including one that Alexis Bittar had meticulously carved and sculpted out of lucite.
On the red carpet at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City, Jolie held hands with her daughter. She accessorized with identical satin Versace shoes and styled her hair in an effortless down.
The Outsiders Playbill featured Vivienne, a producer assistant, who looked stunning in a matching outfit that included a white Eton Signature Twill shirt underneath a teal vest, teal pants, and a teal bow tie. She accessorized her ensemble with Converse sneakers.
Because Jolie has previously disclosed how Vivienne encouraged her to embark on the Broadway role, their night out is particularly memorable.
At the opening night of The Outsiders this past April, the Maleficent actress told people, “She saw an early workshop a few times and then invited me to it.”
“Viv is a young artist who focuses her efforts on her support of others,” Jolie stated. “She has been there to assist in any way she can, and she has learned so much from [score and co-book writer] Justin Levine and the whole creative team.”
On April 11, Jolie and Vivienne celebrated the inauguration by walking the red carpet in their unique looks. Vivienne wore a blue jumpsuit that matched Levine’s, while the Oscar winner chose a gold slip dress and matching silk cape.
Jolie said working behind the scenes with theater enthusiast Vivienne gave her the freedom to approach producing the play from a fresh perspective and allowed her to get to know her daughter better, according to Deadline.
“It was a very different experience of realizing how this is impacting her as a young person at this particular time, and she’s communicating with me about something, and that’s the power of this content,” the woman remarked.
Jolie stated, “For me, it was a moment to learn more about Viv, not me thinking of becoming a producer.”
CBS and Paramount+ will begin live coverage of the 77th Tony Awards at 8 p.m. ET.
