Anne Hathaway’s 5-year-old son Jack seldom appears in support of the Eagles in the Super Bowl with his mother

Just ask Anne Hathaway’s son: pride in the Eagles is a family trait.

The 42-year-old Princess Diaries star was spotted at the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 9, in New Orleans, with her 5-year-old son Jack, according to an Instagram video. The two were dressed in Philadelphia Eagles jerseys and were spotted applauding for their team on the jumbotron.

Hathaway donned a green T-shirt and sat with her son on her lap. When they saw they were on the big screen, they both waved. Although Hathaway was born in New York, her grandpa is Joe McCauley, a late Philadelphia radio star.

Hathaway and her husband Adam Shulman have two boys, Jonathan, age eight, and Jack.

Recently, observers have spotted Hathaway and her child at several sporting events. In November, The Idea of You actress went with Jack to see the New York Knicks play the Chicago Bulls at Madison Square Garden in New York.

During the game, cameras captured a near encounter in which Ogugua “OG” Anunoby plowed over a barrier and collided with Hathaway and her kid.

Jack seemed astonished by the sudden disturbance, which resulted in some dropped popcorn. “Anunoby’s scaring those along the sidelines,” one of the game’s broadcasters said, chuckling.

His co-host commented, “The small youngster was enthralled. He could not move.”

As the announcers spoke, a video of Hathaway smiling and rubbing her son’s arm appeared on the screen.

On the cover of NET-A-PORTER’s digital magazine PORTER in November 2023, Hathaway discussed why she attempts to keep her two children out of the spotlight.

“It’s something I feel is not only essential for my health—I’m on a team, it’s my family, and it’s not just about me,” she told the publication at the time.

“My family has needs, and one of those needs is that children need to be able to define their own lives,” she told me.

I never connect the two, except to appreciate their complementarity. But they serve each other via me, not through a location outside of me.”
