At the age of sixteen, this boy experienced the loss of his famous father. He came out as gay eight years later, and he now has two sons

The 54-year-old star of “Little House on the Prairie” and “Bonanza,” Michael Landon, passed away from his disease in three months.

His LGBT son’s final vow has come to light after a “painful” childhood.

The aforementioned son, who is 48 years old, is a loving father to two kids that look a lot like him.

Many years ago, the well-known American actor Michael Landon tragically died at the early age of 54. His television parts in “Bonanza,” “Little House on the Prairie,” and “Highway to Heaven” brought him praise.

Even with his busy Hollywood career, Michael never wavered in his commitment to his family. Before his tragic demise, the actor, who had nine children, had the wonderful fortune to see some of his grandkids born.

After receiving a pancreatic cancer diagnosis, Michael bravely battled the disease and devoted all of his power and energy to getting better. Sadly, he was unable to fight the illness and died just three months after being first diagnosed.

The actor changed to a mostly vegetarian diet, endured chemotherapy, and embraced more natural therapies. Unfortunately, the signs of his imminent death were already apparent by Father’s Day 1990.

Michael admitted to his wife, Cindy, that he was dying on June 16, 1990. When they sat together in their living room that day, she had seen it firsthand as he fought to get out of his chair and carry his portable oxygen tank up the stairs.

A nurse warned Michael’s family as June drew to a close that his death was impending and that they should prepare for the inevitable. Cindy ensured that all of Michael’s kids showed up to say goodbye.

Each of Michael’s children possesses a unique personality and lives according to their own path. After Michael’s death, a sixteen-year-old son described what it was like to lose his father so young.

Christopher reflected on his emotional condition before hearing the devastating news and the day he discovered his father was dying. After passing an English test on the Friday before his school’s break, he said he was feeling quite happy.

His sisters informed him of their father’s pancreatic cancer diagnosis that day. Reflecting on the moment he first received the news, Christopher wrote:

“I could feel every nerve in my body like it was all made up.”

Christopher felt ready to talk about his father’s death and the sorrow it caused his family seven months after he passed.  The same was true for his siblings, mother, and stepmother.

The young guy regretted that he had not apologized to his father for the struggle he had faced with the illness. Cindy was the only person with Michael when he died early one July morning. The last words he spoke were “I love you.” Christopher wrote about how the loss of his father had changed his understanding of death:

“Before, when I used to think about death, I’d say, ‘I don’t want to die at all!’ But now I’d say the worst that’s going to happen is that I’ll see Dad again.”

Cindy also talked about her experience seeing Michael die. She admitted that although it was difficult for her, she was able to accept Michael’s death as inevitable since it happened gradually over the course of three months.

After his father died, Christopher realized that living his life was more important than just existing. He made a commitment to his father at that time to “[live] and [love] as hard as he can,” which he has steadfastly kept to this day.

Christopher promised his father he would relish life and be loyal to himself if possible. This required him to come clean about his sexual orientation at the age of 24.

Because their father was a celebrity and they could have anything they wanted, Christopher and his siblings had an exciting childhood. But for Christopher, tangible belongings were of little use because he was battling an emotional conflict.

Michael had to deal with his gay son while he was a student at Beverly Hills High. Christopher wasn’t content living between his mother’s house and his father’s opulent Hollywood estate, even if his father was famous. He frequently sat with other kids who, like him, felt out of place during lunchtime in the school basement.

Christopher was afraid he might tarnish his father’s impeccable Hollywood reputation and face ridicule from his peers due to his sexual orientation. He admitted:

“For a while, I thought an article about me would come out with the headline ‘Little House on the Fairy’ or ‘Highway to Hell.'”

In addition to his worries about his father’s admirers and his classmates, Christopher was uncertain about how to tell his family he was gay. Actually, it wasn’t until he fell in love with a boy that he realized it.

When he was younger, Christopher had many female friends, but he felt strange because he didn’t feel the same way about them as other males did. Before he met a boy he fell in love with and the parts of the puzzle came together, he thought about investigating why he felt this way.

Christopher struggled to decide how to tell his mother and numerous other family members about the boy he had fallen in love with, as they were both born-again Christians.

Christopher managed to keep the secret for only two months before revealing it to his mother. He recalled:

“As soon as I realized I was in love—about two months after I met this guy—I just came out. I went straight to my mom, and I was like, ‘Listen, this is what’s going on, and I don’t even know how I even feel about it, but I don’t want to live a double life.'”

Christopher’s mother sobbed and even accused herself when she heard the news, but she gradually came to terms with it. The boy, believing that everyone deserved such a challenge, felt relieved that he had questioned his mother’s convictions.

Christopher worried how his family would react to his sexuality, but they were unconcerned and surprised that he had taken so long to come out.

Cindy claims that Christopher acknowledged knowing when asked if he believed his father was aware. She told Christopher that she and his father already knew when he came out to her.

“I think he’s gay, but I’m sure he’ll come to that conclusion on his own.” Christopher recalled what Cindy had told him.

Knowing that his father knew he was gay and wasn’t upset about it gave Christopher comfort. He acknowledged that he missed his father terribly but decided against going into acting since he needed a vacation after too much time in the spotlight.

Beau Landon-Morris and August Kelly Landon-Morris and Christopher’s two boys are proof that he has fulfilled his father’s wishes. Even though his boys bring him immense joy, Christopher still faces challenges. Thankfully, his loved ones encourage him, and he has gained confidence over the years.

When Christopher shared a picture of himself as a child, sporting braces and neck gear, he was acknowledging this. In the caption, he discussed his shyness and anxiety about accepting his true self, but with the support of his friends and family, he eventually learned to love himself.

He proudly declared his marriage to the most wonderful man and their own family. By highlighting the beauty of life when one can be authentic, Christopher inspired his admirers.

In April 2017, the father of two posted a photo of a newborn baby swaddled in a giraffe-patterned muslin blanket, introducing his son, Beau, who was born a week earlier.

In December 2019, Christopher posted another picture of a newborn, this time holding the child as his husband, Cody Morris, looked at them with affection. Christopher disclosed that the infant was August Kelly, their second son, who they lovingly referred to as “Gus.”

On social media, the couple got a lot of positive and encouraging comments, but they also got some cruel ones. For example, someone inquired which of them had given birth to their boys and called them “sickos.”

Christopher took a screenshot of the comment and shared it once more on Instagram, adding the following caption:

“Woke up to this attack on our family. A reminder of how far we have come and how much further we have to go.”

Numerous admirers sympathized with the pair and lamented that someone was unable to see the family’s love and gratitude for one another.

Christopher and Cody recently commemorated the fifth birthday of their oldest kid. Christopher posted a number of pictures of the little child on Instagram and said he was really appreciative of Beau’s contribution to his development as a person.
