After her impactful performance of “Don’t Lie to Me” aimed at former President Trump, Barbra Streisand is once again vocal in her criticism, vowing to leave the country if the Republican front-runner for 2024 is re-elected. In a recent conversation with Stephen Colbert, the legendary singer and actor described Trump as “so stupid” and “ill-informed,” asserting, “I can’t live in this country if he becomes president.” This threat echoes similar declarations made by celebrities after Trump’s 2016 victory.

Despite being an outspoken critic of the former president, Streisand had previously declared, “Yes, Mr. Trump, let’s make America great again.” However, she now emphasizes that America was fantastic before his election.
The 81-year-old Democratic fundraiser, known for referring to Trump as “the Liar in Chief, the Groper in Chief,” released her 36th album, “Walls,” in 2018, inspired by the reality show star turned US president.
Expressing her heartbreak and disbelief at Trump’s impact on democracy and institutions, Streisand wrote the song “Don’t Lie to Me” as a response to the news and the perceived chaos caused by Trump’s falsehoods. Her memoir, “My Name is Barbra,” delves into the dynamic between politicians and artists, shedding light on her political involvement.
