Equestrian Maija Vance granted her horse, Sam, his first taste of freedom in a vast grass field since he was a foal. Sam had spent two years confined to city living until finally being reintroduced to the expansive open space that suited him best.
Now, Sam revels in a life of liberty and movement, joined by a few of Vance’s other equine companions. Given their sociable nature, horses thrive on social and mental stimulation, making confinement in individual stables less than ideal for meeting their needs. Isolation can easily distress them due to the absence of social interaction.
Fortunately, Sam now flourishes amidst the expanse of the open field. Nonetheless, unrestricted freedom isn’t always the optimal choice, as some horses find comfort and contentment within boundaries and guidance. Through human nurture, they develop trust and cooperation, as evident in Sam’s case depicted in the video. It’s clear that Sam is in capable and caring hands under Vance’s care!
