A young man who knew he only had a few months to live made the decision to spend his final time trying to raise money for a younger child who was also battling cancer.
He did this in the hope that the younger youngster would be able to conquer the disease.
It was the most devastating piece of information he had ever received when doctors told 19-year-old Rhys Langford that the bone cancer he had was incurable.
Instead of meditating on the precarious nature of human existence, he decided to start a fundraising campaign for Jacob Jones, a child of six years old whom he had never met.
Jones had neuroblastoma. His loved ones were shocked when they detected suspicious tumors on his body a month ago and immediately hurried him to the hospital. He had been cancer-free for the previous year.
Despite the fact that Langford had never met the youngster, he was profoundly moved by the circumstances surrounding him. Rhys was the one who learned about Jacob’s story.
“He phoned me upstairs and said he was reading the story while sobbing in bed,” remembered Catherine, the young man’s mother. “He claimed he was reading it while reading the article.”
He claimed that he could not be cured, so he decided to devote his efforts to assisting Jacob in his fight against cancer.

As a consequence of this, he came to the conclusion that he should donate £1,000 ($1,355.96) of his life’s savings toward the establishment of a fund that would pay for the osteosarcoma patient, who was only six years old at the time, to receive treatment in the United States.
This treatment would include surgery and chemotherapy. “ He shared his intentions with her mother, saying, “Mum, I would want to send some money to him.
Even though he is now six years old, he has been afflicted with illness ever since he was two. If only someone could come and save him, it would make my day, and I’d be over the moon.
Catherine said this of her son, who was always concerned about others before he was concerned about himself.
“It was hard for me to fathom that he was still worrying about other people when he himself was so near to going away,” she said.
However, the young man did not end his speech there. Even going so far as to construct his very own internet fundraising website, he did everything in his power to assist in generating more than £63,000 ($85,425) for Jones’ treatment fund.
Although both boys lived in South Wales, it appears that they had never crossed paths with one another.
Even though he was on the verge of passing away, the young boy decided to pool all of his money together and launch a GoFundMe campaign in order to assist the younger child.
“After reading about little Jacob’s fight against cancer, as well as his subsequent relapse, I was left with a very sad heart.
One of my many final desires is for you to be there for Jacob while he fights this dreadful sickness, despite the fact that I am aware that there is not much that can be done for me at this point.
I am conscious that there is nothing that can be done for me right now. Jacob, who is now six years old, has struggled throughout his entire childhood with this condition.
This is not how things should be at all! Once more, Jacob’s family is making an effort to raise money for therapeutic sessions.
I personally sent one thousand dollars to his family, but it is clear that this will not be sufficient. Please assist me, I beg of you, Jacob! Rhys wrote.

“My son, my darling, my fighter, my hero, has surrendered and is no longer fighting.
Last night around seven o’clock, he put down his sword and went away peacefully at home with his loved ones by his side,” his mother wrote in a sorrowful post on social media.
The fact that Jones’ therapy is still being paid for by the fundraiser means that Langford’s legacy will continue on even after he has passed away.
Let us pay tribute to this brave young guy and the legacy he has left behind after he has passed away.
