Bobby Brown has spoken out about his grief over the deaths of his two children, Bobbi Kristina and Bobby Brown Jr., as well as his ex-wife Whitney Houston.
While speaking on the May 19 broadcast of The Jennifer Hudson Show, the 56-year-old singer revealed that he had been in treatment to “work through” his sadness following the deaths of his two daughters and ex-partner Houston.
“First and foremost, a lot of prayer was what led me to embrace therapy in my life. I agreed to see a therapist and go through all of my difficulties,” Brown told host Jennifer Hudson.
The Grammy winner also expressed gratitude to his wife, Alicia Etheredge-Brown, and five remaining children for their support during his sadness.
“Additionally, my family has been there for me during difficult times, including when I was feeling down and unwell,” Brown recalled. “They’re still there because it never stops. It’s not like it simply fades away. It will always be with you, but you must learn to cope and be mindful. Paying attention to how you’re feeling on that particular day and communicating with someone about it, “you know, not keeping it inside.”

Brown’s remarks came ahead of the tenth anniversary of her daughter Bobbi Kristina’s death. On July 26, 2015, she died at the age of 22 due to a mix of drowning and drug intoxication. Brown also lost his 28-year-old son, Bobby Brown Jr., to a heroin overdose in November 2020.
Houston died at the age of 48 on February 11, 2012. Brown and Houston were married from 1992 to 2007, and Bobbi Kristina is their only child.
Brown talked affectionately of the late singer on the show, admitting that he still misses her now.
“She taught me valuable lessons about life, love, and proper living…” She is loved and missed in my heart,” he stated.
Brown spoke to PEOPLE in May 2022 about how he recalls his late children, revealing that he still sees them in nightmares.
“I always see them on beaches or in fields,” he explained at the time. “They’re racing away while giggling. And they are constantly together. I had a few nightmares about Bobbi Kris before Bobby Jr. died. But then, all of a sudden, I experienced rivers of dreams.
He expressed his reaction to their deaths by saying, “I’ve sobbed, but not in the way I wanted to.” He expressed his reaction to their deaths, stating, “I have wept, but not in the manner I desired. I wish to shout at the top of my lungs and cry, yet that feeling eludes me.” Brown also noted that his wife and children—Landon, LaPrincia, Etheredge, Cassius, Bodhi, and Hendrix—support him during his most challenging times.
