You may easily discover a method to brighten someone’s day if you seek it hard enough. Unfortunately, most of the time we’re lost in our own worlds, too preoccupied with our own problems to see what others are going through. Sofi Cruz, a young kid from South Carolina, recently got the opportunity to help someone, and she did not pass it up.

The kid revealed in a Facebook post that she was having a talk with her good buddy Jaheim when he made an unexpected observation. The statement itself wasn’t very notable, but something about it lingered with Sofi for the following four days. “For the past week and a half, I’ve been planning on doing something special for a good friend of mine,” she wrote. Jahiem is his name.”

“I’ve known Jahiem since he was in Mrs. Dragotta’s third-grade class.”
“He has always been the student who completes all of his work on time, never misses school, is always helping the teacher with things in class, and is always a happy human being.”

“Last week, he requested, ‘Can someone get me a pair of shoes? He didn’t want to sound ‘in need,’ but Jahiem asked. I dislike mine and am a [size] 10-11.”

“I’ve always wanted to get him something but never had the money or the guts to do it,” the adolescent added.
However, with the support of her family and a new job, Sofi put her surprise into action this time.

“Since I got a job and have been working really hard, I saved up and bought him a pair of shoes the next day. My grandpa also assisted me.”

The considerate Sofi surprises Jahiem in the following video, which has been shared thousands of times on social media and shown on media stations around the country.

Sofi informs Jahiem that she and he have known each other for a long time and that he is a particular friend to her. She says that she’s been wanting to do something kind for someone since she got a job, and she decided it would be him.
“This is for you,” she adds as she places the backpack on his desk.
Jahiem smiles as he opens the bag and pulls out a package.

Jahiem praises Sofi, but she says there’s more within. He proceeds to pull out item after item, showing that she had created him a gift bag of items, including shirts and socks.

Still, Jaheim holds it together, but as Sofi leans in for a hug, he utterly collapses.

“All my emotions were running wild as I handed him his belongings and watched him open his bag. It was incredibly heartbreaking to see him weep because I could see he didn’t know what to think.”
Sofi stated:

“I am so grateful that giving Jaheim those shoes made him so happy and taught me that giving someone something special can change their life.”

“I love you, Jahiem, with all my heart.”
