Brad Pitt contends that the ‘best actors’ are not usually ‘what you would call gorgeous sex icons’.
Despite having worked with other legendary actors, many of whom are widely regarded as some of the best-looking of our generation—Leonardo DiCaprio, Angelina Jolie, and Julia Roberts, to name a few—Pitt regards appearance as merely a ‘first impression’ and far from important when evaluating talent.

In a 1996 interview with Tiger Beat magazine, Pitt admitted that he has “very few guys” to ‘look up to’ when it comes to his favorite actors in the profession.
He continued, saying, “I appreciate the older films because they show a man standing up for his principles.” Like [Robert Redford]. He depicted the type of man that both men and women desired.
Despite the perception that beauty plays a significant role in Hollywood success, Pitt believes that the best actors aren’t always portrayed as sex symbols.

Pitt explained: “When you see someone, do you only focus on their appearance? It’s only a first impression. Someone who doesn’t catch your eye immediately becomes the most beautiful thing in the world after you talk to them.”
Pitt continued, “I’ll tell you who my favorite actress is: Dianne Wiest. You wouldn’t describe her as a sex symbol, would you? Dianne Wiest is, in my opinion, the most gorgeous woman on television.”
The 76-year-old actor’s most well-known performances are Edward Scissorhands and Footloose. She most recently starred in the 2020 film I Care a Lot and in the Paramount+ criminal thriller The Mayor of Kingstown.

After studying theater at the University of Maryland, Wiest made her Broadway debut in 1971 with Robert Anderson’s Solitaire/Double Solitaire.
She went on to have a very successful theater career before making it big in movies.
She is most known for her roles in Woody Allen’s films Hannah and Her Sisters and Bullets Over Broadway, the latter of which won her an Academy Award.
Dianne also featured in the 1980s vampire film The Lost Boys.
Wiest’s acting career includes four Primetime Emmy Awards for her parts in Road to Avonlea and In Treatment, as well as two nominations.
She has garnered two Screen Actors Guild Awards and a Golden Globe Award.
