Bradley Cooper makes Emma Stone laugh after explaining why he won’t quit shutting his eyes during an interview

Everybody has tiny habits that they may or may not be aware of.

It can sometimes appear as a widely used word or expression. Or maybe it’s a continual yearning to crack your back or knuckles.

But, frequently, we are unaware that we have adopted these minor peculiarities until someone else points them out to us.

Bradley Cooper, for example, can’t keep his eyes open when speaking.

No, he hasn’t had narcolepsy overnight.

He’s still wide awake.

The practice came up when presenting on Variety’s Actors with Emma Stone.

The two appeared on the show to reminisce about their careers.

Stone and Cooper have been friends since 2007 and have featured in a couple of films together.

They both appeared in minor parts in the 2008 independent heavy metal comedy The Rocker before reuniting for Cameron Crowe’s Aloha, which was critically panned at the time.

Stone and Cooper are so close that Stone invited her mother to Cooper’s residence to see a cut of his upcoming film Maestro. How adorable!

Despite this, Cooper’s tendency to close his eyes appears to have never occurred to the La La Land actor.

It all started when Cooper asked his co-star, “Seriously, I do want to talk to you about your immense talent.”

Stone, who was sitting across from him in a recliner, answered, “Why are your eyes so closed?”

Cooper went on to say, “Because I’ve realized, as I’ve gotten more comfortable with myself, the truth is, I think better when my eyes are closed.”

That’s understandable.

“You have to work through this,” Stone said between laughter. “It’s crazy.”

Cooper is relating a story later in the conversation when he finds himself with his eyes closed.

He went on to say, “I know I’m closing my eyes. Deal with it, dude.”

Stone nodded before adding, “I’m going to do it too.”

However, it was evident that it wasn’t for her, as she stated after a few seconds, “I’ll fall asleep if I do it for too long.”

Fans were definitely delighted by Cooper’s unusual quirk and flocked to X, previously known as Twitter, to comment on the interview.

One person observed, “Bradley is too funny.”

One person said, “I can’t explain further, but Bradley Cooper is the Rob Gronkowski of cinema.”

By the way, Rob Gronkowski is an American football player.

I’m not sure what the reference signifies, but does he also keep his eyes closed?

Someone else simply said, “Fantastic interview.”
