CDK Company performs breathtaking synchronized dancing on ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’

The Dutch dance ensemble CDK Company delivered an outstanding performance of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” with very imaginative choreography. The dozen or so dancers created an eye-catching and distinctive dance routine that went viral immediately, with 6.6 million views on YouTube. The video features some tight, coordinated dance routines that must have taken many hours to perfect, as well as several inspiring solo performances.

The simple, beautiful cinematic video for Gotye’s famous song is extremely impressive. After recognizing the possibility of a larger production, the CDK Company smartly crafted its own distinct interpretation of the song. Director and choreographer Sergio Reis performed an excellent job of presenting the work entertainingly, in addition to the superb dance performances.

“We had such an incredible experience working on this piece, and we’re so excited to finally share this with you all,” Sergio Reis wrote in a remark on CDK Company’s performance of “Somebody That I Used To Know,” which he has been sharing on his YouTube account. The group’s primary purpose is to “provide high-quality training within a collective,” but they can also put on an entertaining performance.

Fans of the CDK Company’s version of “Somebody That I Used To Know” made enthusiastic comments on YouTube, such as, “This performance is really great because every dancer is really into their role.” “This is the Pringles of Dance—I literally can’t put the lid back on it; I want to watch it over and over again,” one fan wrote. This is absolutely a masterpiece. CDK Company’s interpretation of ERAM’s “Gimme Gimme” has become a popular video.

In February of this year, Sergio Reis released “Somebody That I Used To Know” and “Gimme Gimme” consecutively.

The CDK Company’s rendition of “Somebody That I Used To Know” was the group’s breakout hit on YouTube, becoming the company’s first video to reach one million views.

“Somebody That I Used To Know” had a similar impact on Gotye’s career, catapulting the small-time singer-songwriter to international stardom. The song peaked at number one in his native country and subsequently became the best-selling single of 2012, according to Billboard’s year-end Hot 100 list.
