Chuck Norris published a Facebook post commemorating his mother’s birthday, Wilma Norris Knight, on March 2, 2023. A vintage photo of the actor sitting close to his mother as she warmly embraced him was included in the post.
The actor stated he couldn’t believe his mother, who was born in 1921, was turning older that week, on May 4, 2023. What struck him the most was how vibrant she seemed—as if she might live for another hundred years!
Chuck observed that his mother’s birthday fell the week before Mother’s Day. The celebrity admitted to being “overwhelmed with gratitude to God” for the impact he’d gained for three ladies in his life and that he wouldn’t be the guy he was today without them, and he stated this about Wilma in the article:
“Happy birthday, my 102-year-old mother!”
In his May 1, 2023, piece, the star claimed that he didn’t know which was more difficult to believe: having a 102-year-old mother or having an 83-year-old child! The actor stated that he was and will always be “so grateful” to Wilma for being his “mom.”

He mentioned that they’d “been through thick and thin” together and were still moving forward. Chuck also expressed his appreciation for his mother, who had made several sacrifices for her children and begged her to spare him a slice of birthday cake.
Wilma spoke on “The Mike Huckabee Show” in May 2012, when she spoke openly about her life. Chuck’s mother referred to him as her “defender,” his brother, Aaron, as her “sunshine,” and Wieland, the final Norris kid killed in Vietnam, as her “hero.”
The actor’s mother said that he would always refer to himself as Carlos, his original name, rather than Chuck. Wilma revealed why she referred to him as her protector, adding that when they were destitute, the star took on the position of man of the house because his and his brothers’ father had abandoned them.
Chuck babysat his younger brothers when their mother worked night shifts. The celebrity, who was approximately 14 at the time, even sat down with his mother to discuss what needed to be paid when the bills arrived.

Wilma admitted to Aaron that the family was so impoverished when he was born that she didn’t know what she would feed him. Despite the difficulties, the boy’s family was overjoyed that he had brought “sunshine” into their lives when he was born.
Wieland was described as “happy-go-lucky,” “loving everyone,” and “mama’s boy.” Wilma thought that her previous husband’s participation in World War II had changed something in her children’s father.

When Chuck was 14 and Wieland was 12, they urged their mother not to stay with their father since things were so horrible. The lads said that they couldn’t stand it any longer since he was aggressive and an alcoholic.
Despite coming from a shattered family, the Norris brothers turned out to be respectable guys. Wilma attributed their success to her taking the kids to church and Sunday school, which she taught, as well as her daily prayers.

Wilma mentioned taking her children to church and praying with them to give the triplets a good upbringing in her interview with Mike Huckabee. She mentioned how important a spiritual life was to the boy’s upbringing.

The mother of three also gave advice to new moms on how to raise their children effectively, stating they should love their children and take them to church and Sunday school because God did not give parents their children but leased them to them “for a while.”
Chuck once said that his mother still loved “Jesus with her heart and soul” and had faith in him. Wilma would tell her son that God had plans for him, which piqued the actor’s interest.
As a youngster who attended church on a regular basis, the celebrity embraced Jesus as his savior. However, he was influenced by the Billy Graham Crusade when he was younger, and his religious awakening came when his wife, Gena, went into preterm labor.

During the Great Depression, he credited her with parenting him and his brothers alone. Wilma also miraculously survived the deaths of two spouses, a stepson, Wieland, and grandkids, as well as multiple operations, as he added: “[She] has prayed for me all of my life, through thick and thin.”
