Thanks to his roles on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, audiences typically perceive the host as the one in control, asking the questions and steering the conversation to some extent.
However, O’Brien truly let loose when he appeared on the show hosted by Sean Evans, where celebrities consume increasingly spicy chicken wings while being grilled about their lives and careers.
During his appearance on the YouTube series this week, it quickly became evident that O’Brien was bringing a certain level of chaos. The segment began with him taunting anyone who might be afraid of consuming the spicy wings, stating, “You don’t know what real danger looks like anymore.”

O’Brien kicked things off in an unconventional manner by inviting his personal doctor onto the show to take his temperature, only to promptly dismiss him.
While initially claiming he was “terrible with hot food,” O’Brien displayed confidence as he tackled the wings. After eating several wings without any issues, he boldly declared, “I don’t think there’s a wing here that I can’t eat like it’s ice cream. Seriously, I don’t think there’s a wing on this table that I cannot devour like it’s cool whipped cream!”
To prove his point, O’Brien generously doused a wing with hot sauce and even took multiple swigs from the bottle before continuing the interview as if nothing had happened. Throughout the segment, he received frequent visits from his on-hand doctor.

At one point, O’Brien shocked Evans by licking the hot sauce from the wing and exclaiming, “Are we doing this or not? What’s the point of even being alive if we don’t do this?”
Reflecting on his actions afterward, O’Brien admitted to regretting his liberal use of the sauce. Despite having sauce smeared all over his face, he insisted, somewhat maniacally, “I’m fine! I’m perfectly f**king fine!”
O’Brien’s antics thoroughly entertained viewers, with many taking to social media to share their favorite moments from the episode. One user expressed, “Couldn’t breathe I was laughing so hard,” while another declared, “This may have been the best episode of Hot Ones I’ve ever seen. Conan is a national treasure.”
Here’s hoping O’Brien has since recovered from his spicy ordeal.
