Country music star John Rich responds to the industry, saying he needs no ‘approval’ from woke CEOs

He mentioned his recent hit tune “Progress” in an interview with “Just the News, No Noise” on Thursday, which he made and released without having a major record deal since he couldn’t get one due to his conservative views and beliefs.

“I don’t have much support from the country music industry anymore.” And that’s OK. “Any day of the week, I’d rather have my freedom of speech than their approval,” he remarked.

“Within six hours of ‘Progress’ being released on those two platforms, it was the number one song in the world,” Rich stated of Truth Social and Rumble.

“I decided to not use Twitter, not use Facebook, and not use YouTube, because one of the lines in the song says, ‘They shut down our voices,'” he said. “And by ‘they,’ I mean those platforms like YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.”

According to Rich, he created the song in response to his displeasure with what has been occurring in the country over the last two years, according to Just the News.

“I would not call that gas price progress,” he added. “I wouldn’t call food costs rising. I would not call the presence of fentanyl in all of our communities progress. I wouldn’t call the border’s openness progress.”

“If that’s progress, they can stick it where the sun doesn’t shine, which is a really nice PG way of saying you know what,” he said.
